I think this is the first time I've seen your full bass rig Jeff,...How are you running that setup?

Sorry, missed this question a long time ago. I run a rather complex rig, a lot of stuff is not seen. (Courtesy of the influence of Doug from King's X )

Usually, I'm running my Mesa with my pedalboard into 2 Mesa 4x10's (the other is off camera) For my main dirt, fuzz, etc.

From a splitter box, another signal is sent to the GK for totally clean bass, no effects which usually goes to an SWR Goliath 3 cab (not seen)

From the DI on the back of the GK, I send a signal to the Ampeg into the Mesa 6x10 which is mic'd with an AKG D112. All of these signals are blended.

That's basically the theory, although I reserve the right to leave some speculation to "other stuff" going on ;)

Sheesh dude,...and I though I had a convoluted setup going on.

Seriously,...V4s and Mesas and Matamps and secks and gizz all around fellas.

:!!!:

This thread is full of all kinds of win.

this next year its going to go thru some major changes.
the only things staying are the tuner and the 2 Black Arts pedals. I am getting a POG2, a custom parked Wah by Basic Audio, a faye sing phaser, 2 delays (TC flash back and an analog delay) and a Trem pedal.....might need to build me a bigger board.

Guitar Amp for home use.

Image

Replaced the stock Chinese preamp tubes with some old Dutch Phillips that came out of a malfunction Hammond A-111 organ.

Image

Image

Bass amp (I'll get a better pic at some point in time,...but it's a Yamaha PB-1 into an Ampeg SVP-1500 pushing a 4ohm Avatar B410 NEO and a 4ohm Kustom 2x15 bout 900 watts split between the two cabs)

:joy:

I am utterly in love with everything Pignose do.

Killer gear altogether.

Image

I have a beat up old Gibsonette from 1959 inbound, for which I am so excited.

It was all Kim Jong Il-ikewater that clued me into these things in the Home Practice Amp thread. I think these amps are easy to overlook as they don't have the mojo in looks and badge appeal as the more regularly used stuff; I had no idea that these were even tube amps, until ILW pointed it out. 40 watts in a very small package. A multi-stage preamp and 2x 6L6 poweramp.

I was jamming late last night while my wife was asleep,...and didn't even bother her,....sounded fine to my ears,...It can crank but the tubes to rattle a bit turned up,...but considering I'm not a gigging guitar player,....I can live with playing at lower volumes.

With a little bit of research and energy put into it in the form of tube swaps and some mods,....I think these are better value and more versatile then the lower wattage cheap tube amps on the market (New Fender Champ,...Epi Valve Jr, etc etc). Pumps out the low end,...takes my EA Supercollider swimmingly. Definitely sweeter and creamier then the SS practice amp I was using.

I'm definitely satisfied with my SS bass rig,...but will admit to wanting a 400+ or an SVT.

I have a Gibson Skylark from around that same era. Great amp. I think you'll love the Gibsonette.
