How many Vocaloid fans are there in America, though, ESPECIALLY ones that are even interested in a car? Or are even old enough to drive
How many people outside of Japan even know what Hatsune Miku is?

I feel bad for everyone involved.

True.. Vocaloid will never be that popular here mainly because Japanese is one of the only languages that you could do something like that with it...

Still...

Josh Tolentino - japanator wrote:If there was ever a sign that the Vocaloid phenomenon is on the verge of growing beyond the Japanese otaku circle of awareness, this would probably be it. William Gibson, the father of cyberspace himself, has taken notice of dear Miku.

Acceptance wasn't easy, though. Gibson, author of Neuromancer a pioneer of punk (both cyber- and steam-), at first tweeted that the aqua-haired leek-spinner "doesn't really rock me," stating that Miku needed "higher rez, less anime."

It took evangelists of Miku-ism to turn Gibson along the correct path, filling him in about exactly what the vocaloid phenomenon means for the future of entertainment, and lo, he declared:

"Hatsune Miku is clearly a more complex phenomenon than I initially assumed. Requires further study."

Grand! And if you're wondering how exactly Gibson caught wind of Miku-ism, it's likely from a sudden surge in overseas media coverage of the so-called "holographic pop star". Links were probably tweeted and feeds fed, and through a certain series of tubes did the knowledge make it to the man behind cyberspace.

It's a brave new world, folks.

Things TV has taught me:

1. Chicks love eating yogurt.
2. It's easy to get a Hoveround at little to no cost to me.
3. Smoking makes you a towering giant able to walk on air.

4. all men are stupid except black men, who are unfathomably wise.
5. all children are hilariously clever, wise beyond their years, and smarter than the adults around them.
6. automobiles are magical; cartoon characters and animals can drive them, they can fly, drive in video game landscapes, and even travel through time.
7. history is made up of dinosaurs, ancient Egyptians, conspiracy theories, and Nazis.
8. any problem large or small, a product sold by Anthony Sullivan (or formerly by Billy Mays) will solve them all.

I use to break the low B string on my bass about once a year... but that had to do with my bass's bridge has a high break angle and the cores rusting...
