Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
that video got me hyped on it, too. it's a fun box full of washy/ambient sounds, but I couldn't hack the short delay always last/present in the mix. bet it's going to sound sick with the DC
i'm glad i can call you a friend. even if i'll never see you again

has this been posted? should one be exited? I'm kind of exited

Like the original from 1980, the new Crash Pad can create an array of drum sounds and other-worldly oscillation sweeps, as well as process external sounds thru its resonant filter. Plus, it’s been updated to respond to expression pedal/CV input for external control over the filter in real-time.

it simulates a crash cymbal I think! Didn't know that there even was an original one before. I think it might be cool to pair with one of them Electro Faustus Drum Thing?goroth wrote:What's that??

EHX had the old Space Drum and Boss made one for a while too (I think it was for cymbals too...there were a few other ones too but those are more rare..like Tokai or something). Delptronics make a handclap one too. Pretty neat.
Kinda neat that EHX is releasing a new one.

Can somebody recommend me a good online tube retailer? I know I've read about good ones on here before but don't remember where. I just picked up an old peavey butcher and I'm loving it. It has the original peavey brand tubes. They look ok but I feel like 120 watts should be louder.
good dealings here:

Has anyone used a Pitchfactor/POG/HOG with a VI? Does the strangle switch fuck with polyphony? How well does it play with synths? Are the delays good enough to replace a standard delay? I really think I need a pitchfactor....

I don't know, but if no one replies to you by Friday I can run mine through a POG2 and let you know.

That would be awesome dude! Thanks! I'm just super not satisfied with my PS-5 or any of the cheaper pitch shifters I've used but I've started to really want pitch based effects in my music.

POG v1 works just fine with Bass VI. I have no doubt that all would since they are digital.BoatRich wrote:Has anyone used a Pitchfactor/POG/HOG with a VI? Not sure with synths though.

Cool?
Boss clapper was rad. Crap, but rad. Space drum was designed by frantone Fran, and it was sweet. So I guess more crash cymbals in pedals is more better?

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Drum thing is just a piezo in an enclosure afaik. Not worth the cash.
I could be making that up though, so if anyone wants to prove me wrong feel free to.

That's exactly what it is.
OTOH a nice piezo setup is going to run you double what they go for (or more).

Just what I suspected about the OP-1...it will do exactly what I am looking for (and I suspect you are too)....goroth wrote:Can't wait to watch those demos you dug up Lord G. Probably won't have time until this evening.
<shakes fist at work and family for interrupting GAS>
with the finger sequencer you can set a length for each little mini sequence (which is assigned to a key on the keyboard) and program it like a little arp sequence. Mixing that in with normal sequences should get it pretty close. Then you play the little sequences to the tape thing and instant different time sigs and randomness. Still haven't sampled or even looked into anything yet (just barely got it and updated it...it was a really old os on the thing). I'm sure I can get more complex things with thing and the endless sequencer and the other ones...but it is pretty awesome.
Everything about it has been pretty easy so far. Updating was so easy and awesome.
The synths sound really awesome and are fun to tweak. Totally a blast just for the fun factor/making sound. I assume through good headphones or a good preamp this thing will sound great.
But yea, I was up and sequencing in 20 minutes, which is awesome (cheated and looked at the manual breifly so that I could find what the symbols all mean) but went in pretty blank.
Let me get in a little deeper and see if I can't makes some spastic stuff.
Thanks to everyone that recommended it. I think this will work just fine for what I am doing.
