Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
Yeah I've definitely thought about it. It's a DIY circuit that someone on DIYStompboxes put together a few years ago. It's the second one that I built and a little stripped back from the first one that I did. Hbomb has the first one, it had a rotating selector switch to control how the signal fed back into itself (100%, 500k pot, none) but could have also been expanded to have light control over that as well.
I want to breadboard the next one that I make so that I can mod it. I want to to a clean switch, for 'cleaner' repeats, along with a switch for extended spread time (hbombs goes into crunchy static lofi super repeats at the max setting)

Yeah, that sounds super cool - also a tone knob would be sweet. Would the rotating selector switch affect the intensity of the oscillating feedback, or its level in the mix?

Tone knob would be cool too, definitely. I think it sounds scratchy in that video but that was through a 10" speaker. Through a 12" is bassier. Rotating selector was for the intensity on hbombs

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Well, I'll keep an eye out in case this design comes around again!

Yeah, dude, keep making those SHÜGEIZUs! I'd jump on that one for sale if I could, so I'll definitely be wanting one when the funds are available.

Yeah dude. I definitely want to toy around with it. It's simple enough that it leaves a lot to be toyed around with as well. Theres a giant thread on DIYStompboxes about it where people have done mods too, I want to try them!

It is totally like instant shoegaze though. Thick fuzz swirlies

Absolutely. And the doubling effect is super-cool. Only thing that would be cooler is if you could have two separate tones going - one for the "primary" and another for the "double." I bet you could REALLY thicken up the sound that way...

Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
i couldn't not jump on that. sounded sick even through the little 10".
i love how it seems to morph between like flanger-like sounds and straight fuzz and distinct doubling on its own. the oscillation sounded sweet too.
i would have thought having a polytope and some crazy fuzzes and delays already this might be redundant but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

I totally want to make some more of them sometime. It's a fun build and I got the vero layout to be decently small, if I did a bare-bones version like the one that sold.

Did you design the artwork?
