That sounds excellent! How are you liking the synth besides it being a good bonding mechanism?cosmicevan wrote:Nothing quite as amazing as beating cancer (kudos @aedes), but I snagged one of those little Rucci 8 bit pocket synths and when it arrived yesterday it caught the ears of my kids (6 and 8 yr olds) and they were really into it and both loved droning out and twisting knobs to make their own music. Really exciting to see them be as excited about being creative in that way as I am...it was a great bonding experience and very powerful breakthrough for them to be able to control the sound in a way that pleased them since guitars you can’t just pick up and make em sound good.
Thanks man :-)cosmicevan wrote:Nothing quite as amazing as beating cancer (kudos @aedes), but I snagged one of those little Rucci 8 bit pocket synths and when it arrived yesterday it caught the ears of my kids (6 and 8 yr olds) and they were really into it and both loved droning out and twisting knobs to make their own music. So happy 4 u bro. Congrats! Hope you're still cranking out choons in the shed! (I aspire to have my own shed one day).
Synth is a ton of fun. It's limited in what you can do (obviously) and if you want to play in a key that's not C it is a bit irritating to switch octaves with a knob, but it does get more than a bunch of sounds and you can get pretty creative with it. I really like that it has the option to drone or play notes and that there are a bunch of patterns you can leverage as well. I'm thinking if I want to mark up the box or not with where the points of change are for octaves and patterns...I like the minimalistic look of it, but I tend to be more of a substance over style kind of person.Eivind August wrote:That sounds excellent!
