Yesterday someone I work with was robbed at gunpoint, and later someone stole my phone out of my car. Admittedly the second thing was a little my fault - I gave a random stranger a short ride in my car late at night, and he managed to grab my phone out of my cupholder without me noticing until later.

Nothing to do with politics I guess, neither criminals were Trump supporters probably.

Exactly, being a douchebag is not something inherent to a demographic, there are too many points scattered around the graph to draw any clear conclusions.
If your problem with rural people is that they're uneducated and ignorant (which is the meaning I'm inferring) then, I feel like that's not entirely on them, so to speak, and it sort of becomes everyone's responsibility to ensure their community is engaged enough with each other so that no members are subject to the outgroup/ingroup mentality that can prevail in small and regional populations.

We can end racism and homophobia and we can do it quickly, but EVERYONE needs to believe it can happen. Which not only places onus on the groups doing the discriminating, but on the rest of us for ensuring that we believe people can change.
Now, I'm aware that there's a whole bunch of police that people will tie to "people have the right to be racist, you're now creating a marginalised group against racists" but like, fuck off with that, for starters and secondly, we won't survive to explore outer space if we keep thinking this way.

I think many are overestimating the staying power of the #neverTrump movement. Nobody gets anywhere in politics without sucking up to a winner.

Like I have said before [mostly joking.. mostly] Trump is there to get Hillary elected to bering in a new era of Reagan type politics.
She is a true republican, she is a corporate conservative, she is an imperialist… why in the end wouldn't Trump be all uge for those things?

Cruz never really had a chance, he was a big part of the reason the government got shut down.. how the fuck can anyone take serious the person that kept trying to stop the government from working to be in charge of the government.. even if you agree with some of his ideas you'd have to consider him weak. The only reason he stayed in so long if the fucking Teapartiers.. after all all they really are is a corporate backed more sellable more tv ready version of a libertarian.

I guess that's true. I have had thoughts of "I wonder if he's doing this just to push Hillary in". Which could be possible. But he has huge ego, so maybe now he wants it for himself. Either way though, it's going to be a shitty four years.

Regardless though I think it would have sucked no matter what. Gotta kill Congress to do anything.
