Thanks guys
I was trying to show Eivind how the two pedals sounded together as well as the CV control which didn't wind up doing too much but did allow for a new control over the frequency range. I love both of those pedals so much!

Re: UG demos Morley EDL Electrostatic Delay Line Oil Can Del

Post by Uncle Grandfather »

Hey there, got a new tablet/digital camera and this is the first demo with it. Hope its better sound quality than the old ones? I turned up the amp volume some so this may be a clipping nightmare and I'll redo it. This is the Morley EDL Electrostatic Delay Line Oil Can Delay with LAL Devil Tail into Thunder BoX.

You warn about a clipping nightmare with the devil tail and thunder boxx running into that atmospheric monster of a Morley? I would expect that!

Getting some evilly good stuff in there. There is a bit of popping and clipping though with the new equipment. It also doesn't seem to have thesame bass responce to me but I could be wrong. Still great stuff. Sounded like you were torturing Chewbacca for a minute somewhere in there. haha.

edit: just watched it on another computer. It's actually quieter than the old vids too. edit again: just realized my headphones were plugged into the computer and were actually by the computer screen. haha. sounds awesome!

Hey LG, thanks for the feedback. It was pretty dark and murky and to me that's how the video sounds, more bass heavy maybe? The skrs are on the front of this tablet and they were facing me not the amp so maybe that is where the mic is and I need to turn it 180 degrees next time and there will be a brighter result? Anyways glad you enjoyed it :joy:

Man, that sounded really really nice. I can see why other people here hadn't bonded with it considering that slightly trashy/brittle quality but that was a really cool demo, the oscillation blends in nicely.
So was it worth it?

Thanks
Yeah I really love the straight up fuzz tones, especially when it's dimed and gets all fizzy but I was having a lot of fun with the lower fuzz settings too. The oscillations are nice and musical too, and it's really responsive to the volume and tone knobs...there are two different tones depending on where the tone knob is set and the first bit of range on the volume knob tunes the oscillations really well where it is still playable and then it just turns Into a screaming pitch that gets higher and higher. I can see me getting a lot of use out of this one

Re: UG demos LAL Oscillo Fuzz 86, MASF Kollaps

Post by Uncle Grandfather »

Hey there, here is the MASF Kollaps. It's a random tremolo, so each time you stomp you get a new speed from crazy slow to crazy fast and everything inbetween. It's a real texture machine. Dirt is the LAL Oscillo Fuzz 86.

86 sounds awesome! Can't wait for mine to show up (with epilepsy, d-50, RE-201, and an sh-09 synth!). Kollaps adds some nice textures too. I kinda miss it (of course haha).

Great sounds UG!

Is it just me or does it sound a little more evil and brooding (for lack of better words) than the newer LAL fuzzes? Like a dark tonebender or something? I dunno

Thanks, yeah the fuzz is pretty awesome sounding but its pretty low output until you get to full on fuzz range so it benefits from the angel ring. The lower fuzz settings are great, and it is dark. Lots of texture going on, and there is an extra bit of greatness when it's fully dimed...there is static and other artifacts! I just wish that it wasn't as gated when fully dimed so the cool decay can ring out longer. The cv jack controls the fuzz amount or the frequency depending on how the toggle is set. I think you're really going to like it.

I was surprised that there was still room for some boosting with the Thunder Box dimed. Really useful pedal for getting new tones and textures.
