if i want the 'best' possible sound, yes.
dirt/comp into the front of the amp and then phaser/trem/etc in the loop

I've wondered this as well. I had an M9 and a rv3 I've been wanting to put into my effects loop to see if I notice a difference

Sadly my effect loop is parallel so it's absolutely useless without 100 percent wet which none of my pedals do. I don't feel like doing a mod on it because the money could afford me a pedal looper or something.

Well, here we are as of today. The only change I want to make is to swap out the Ghost Echo for a Reverberator. I could also possibly see removing the Crybaby and replacing that space with a Tremolessence and a Cosmichorus OR a Rainbow Machine but that will be a ways off as the music funds cash flow is currently in the negative (aka, buy my stuff I have in the B/S/T forum). Both the guitar signal and the Voicelive2 are running into the Rang III on separate channels so they can be looped to the same timing but can still be sent out as separate lines.

And I found a perfectly sized power strip to attach to the back of the pedalboard. This way I can just plug in the EP-2, Rang III, & Voicelive 2 to this instead of having 3 more power cords running across the world to the other power strip I have. Pretty excited about this minor accomplishment. :)

I know. I FINALLY found an overdrive that I am in love with in the Woofer Wailer so step 1 is ready. I might also re-buy a Blunderbuss because I enjoyed that pedal... just didn't have a use for it at the time. I went a little crazy trying out tons of random pedals for awhile then realized I wanted a good base (tuner, overdrive and delay) before I started filling in the holes again. I love the EP-2. The Ravish Sitar was a gift from my wife so I'm not allowed to let that go. But I use it from time to time and enjoy it a lot so it's a keeper for now. A keeper reverb and keeper fuzz are at the top of my list though... just requires funds.
