I watched one demo of the MC-101. I think, if I was on the market for something like that, I’d rather save up an extra $100 and just get a used Digitone or something. Not really my market though.

On the inexpensive side of things, iPad users can now use VCV Rack (miRack) for just $7.99. It doesn't have all the desktop units, but early demos suggest there's still a lot of modules.

On the fantasy side of things, Analogue Solutions is making the most anti-Behringer release of the year and I love the impractical ambition of it. Colossus features 12 analog VCOs and is priced at £25,000.

In terms of form factor, it's clearly inspired by the unobtanium EMS Synthi 100, but they say it's not using any cloned EMS modules. I'm not sure how many they'll make, but I would guess the ceiling lies between 15 and 40.

Sound clips should be coming after SynthFest UK (October 5th).

Actually...if they could do a video synth like the EMS one (the one featured in SUNLESS)... I just don’t even know.
Imagine the cultural clash? People, using an archaic video synth for an instagram clip? But also instagraming them using the mach8ne for the clip?

I kinda want a Saturn VI because Star Crunch uses a Saturn V and Star Crunch is a hero.

But I really don't need a generic boosty overdrive thing.

Like Jexus.

(Not video synth, but old editing equipment)

This might be the most meh demo I can recall for a new synth. It just sounds so wimpy and lifeless. This is a prototype (hence no mod+pitch wheels), but still this was rather uninspiring for an unveiling.

I'm not sure if I would explain it as ramping, but the results are similar. The Interfere switch lets you do momentary drop or rise effects. David explains it in greater detail on the product listing. I think UC and a couple other people have already played the production version.
