I got a call for a show the other day. Before they were able to give me the schpeil, I asked "Pay to play?"

They said "Well, yeah, you have to sell 30 tickets."

WarJayJah - maybe try it tuned EADGC before giving up on it? might be wacky with the string length, might be awesome? i use my B, but by far the least of all strings. i love me some C janklin's.

If I were to have a 5 string, I would likely string it up with the C. Especially for chording options. I always struggle with trying to use the low B.

Funny, I love using the low B (or A rather, since that's what I usually tune it to), and I don't play chugga chugga nu-metal stuff. I just like being able to throw low octave drones on my A string riffs, and also I like playing up the neck in a higher position, and it lets me stay there and still hit lower notes.

Hey yo I go that same email from a group that wanted me to do shows in Austin based off my Soundcloud page... It was almost word for word and when I responded they set up a show and sent me the details and date and told me to sell 30 tickets... It was a smallish coffee shop in a strip in North Austin that could hardly fit 30 people... When I told them no thanks I got the same response and a real stupid passively aggressive email... Whateves...
