Damn nice, Deltz.

Looks like the reviews on the Vintage are lukewarm.

i hate that i like the 'pad so much but i do. think i'm going to list my Mobius to fund a second music dedicated one damnit.

So, I met my new next door neighbor yesterday. Just to be courteous, I told him that if my playing is ever annoying to just hammer on the door or wall and I'll stop. His response? "Shit, if I hear you playing, I'll just pull a chair up near the wall and take a listen. I'm stoked to have a musician next door."

For an apartment, that's crazy cool to hear.

Awesome. That's the complete and polar opposite of the menopausal twat I have to deal with :grumpy:

Well, I have made a modular compromise. I was working on getting more sound processing modules and going bigger but the root canal slammed the breaks on going any bigger, probably good that I start this small and figure if this is really going to work for me.
Here is what it will look like:
http://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view

Going to go Bass>OC2>MBSS>Megalith>IE XeroDLX> True Bypass Looper with the modular in the loop[in the inout>MA35(Korg MS10 based VCF/A like a brainfreeze with more control)>WaveShaper(what made me want to do this, does COOL SHIT)>out the inout> out the TB Looper>Strymon Mobius>PitchFactor>Koma BD-101 gate/delay

One of the modules (Doepfer A-177) lets me use expression pedals and momentary switches to control the modules like pedals should be a cool way to figure out if I should move further in this direction (when I have money again...).

01) fuck ME i hope they fixed the qc issues with the MASF Possessed. this thing is what i've always wanted. a resampler pedal that makes sense and just works. oh fuck. i have to go to a fam thing in about 30 minutes and i am so. damn. angry at them. for taking me away from this beauuuuuuuuuuuutyyyyyyyyyy.

02) lol. shit. we accidentally got somebody's panties in a bunch. there's a local "Booking Representative" company that got at us through FB first and then through email. Paul deals with all the booking because a) i'm a flake and b) i suck at talking to people. 'specially if they're being kinda dicky. the problem with this company is they're pay to play. i don't want to do that. i get that album releasing touring bands buy their way on to bigger tours some times, and that's yucky but different. i'm not in high school. i'm not trying to have to presell tickets to play a show. i hate the idea, i hate how the scene was when i was a kid out here and like 80% of the gigs were pay to play until a lot of the bands just started refusing them. like battle of the bands, it's all bullshit. yesh, clubs don't care how good you are and how much of an ARTIST you is, and that's fair. they're a business. make that paper. if you don't help them make money, it doesn't make sense for them. but pay to play...... blegh. they have no interest in matching bands that work, they don't do anything to help promote it, they just sit as a middle man to take money out of the bands pockets. you know, that LUCRATIVE $200 that's getting split between four bands already.

Paul Dibbly was super polite, told him we appreciated it but we weren't interested in selling tickets, thank you. Paul's a really nice guy, smart enough to be professional whilst talking to people, all that. the response was (just some excerpts. don't know if i'm being stupid putting any of it online but i dunno how much i care.) -

"....... we put a lot of time, money, and staff hours into our shows. There are considerable overhead expenses on our end and on the club's end - and we take on ALL of the financial risk. (If you want more info on overhead ask me). I have to make sure that overhead costs get recouped at least. It is not sustainable for our company and/or the venue itself continually lose money on our local shows. I am sure you can understand that, right?

...... Now I am sure you would promise me that "We refuse to sell 15 tickets, but we have a huge door draw." Our experiences and the data we've collected after producing 8,000+ local shows throughout the past 8 years has shown us: A local act that "refuses" to sell any tickets and instead "promises" a huge door draw is more than 98% LIKELY to draw less than 7 total fans at the door. 70% of the time the artist that "promised" a huge door draw draws 0 fans at the door. We know this because we ask every person that pays cash door admission at our shows WHICH artist they are there to see. So we have tediously tracked each artists' actual door draw on every show we have produced. You may be the 2% EXCEPTION, and maybe you can draw without selling Tickets... but quite frankly, I am TIRED of being lied to, misled, and financially screwed by hundreds of local bands that have told me the same thing you have year after year :-\

........ any local artist should have absolutely no problem or no difficulty selling 15 Tickets to a show in their home region. "

lol. alllllllllll we said was something like, "we're not interested in doing pay for play shows. thank you though!". nothing about promises on draw or refusals or any of all that.

seriously. you do NOT feel the need to justify what you're doing that much to a nobody that has nothing to do with you unless you know you're being shady. noooooooooooot someone i want to get in a relationship with.

blegh.

So I decided to sell my Dingwall and go back to a 4 string. Possibly and MTD 435 or if not a Musicman Reflex. Why? I never, ever, use the B string. EVER. It gets in the way and annoys me. I just don't play the type of music that is required for it. So, it's time to go. I have a buyer, he wants all kinds of info, which is fine, but now he wants me to take a picture of my license and send it to him to prove who I am or something. Makes NO sense. I have 58 positive feedback on Talkbass and he only has 4 posts total. There is no way I'm doing that. So annoyed right now. If he doesn't buy it, he's wasted like a week of my time.

I just don't get some people. They are sooooooo fucking odd.

Anyway....blah. I demoed the Myco Three. Still waiting to upload it now. For some reason the first several second of the video is upside down. Stupid Apple apparently doesn't make any good video editing software that I can buy in the App store. I've looked, and looked, but can't find anything as good as the free one that came with my Windows tower.

Enough about me. Ben, are you in Slip Knot now? heh
