In other news... Picked up an EQD Sea Machine in trade. Any doom roomers using chorus effectively? I know deathmonkey didn't get down with the modulation. I'm not sure where I'll fall with it but trading gear is cool by me. Something I had an excess of for something I don't have seems sweet.

Also, where do you guys like this stuff in your chain? I have my Organizer after dirt. Anybody using an Organizer, like it before/after dirt? What about Chorus stuff? What should I know. I don't normally fucks with this stuff.

I usually put modulation post dirt but pre time effects, it usually has the most effect there.

Like Shannon said it will take a bit to get used to working that stuff but once you get used to Ableton its super easy to get around in and work with.

Can you guys stop posting sexy dual cutaways? That's like my favorite guitar shape ever (plus I'm a sucker for Tobacco Burst) and it's giving me some serious inferiority complex sadness boners.

As far as chorus go, I used mine at the end out of necessity (PVY KVLT MARK CHORUS FTW) to get a little sonic youth-y during the obnoxiously long Floor-Eyehategod BEEEEEEEP feedback riffs in days of yore.

No kidding, I've been scouring the internet for Yamaha SGs (dying to get my hands on one) and vintage Ibanez Artists and old Peaveys the last few days even though I have no money at all to spend on that stuff. Thanks a lot guys.

I just got my Small Clone today actually. Not gonna post a pic of it though because it would tarnish the streak of awesome new gear that everyone is posting. I run mine after all of my delays to get some pretty cool modulation on them, My favorite combo is the DE7 going into the Small Clone. Before or after dirt, that is just a matter of taste.

EDIT: Forgot to comment about the Organizer. I had one before and from what I remember I ran it before dirt. I'm not positive but I think I did. I remember it sounded good both ways but I've always ran octave stuff pre dirt to get better tracking. If you could dial the warble out that pedal would have been a keeper for sure.

Seems like the general consensus is gonna be try it out and see how it goes.

The only thing I dislike, presently, about the Organizer is that it gets pretty gross when the gain is smashing amps. Kinda sucks. I haven't really written anything 'around it' per se, so it might not be a board staple. Not sure yet.

Same kind of goes for Chorus. Sometimes I just feel like I want a little something to make certain things pop and I have a few ideas of some riffs I want to use it on so I'm gonna have to try it out and see. I think I'm more interested in its subtle applications so I'll have to test it both pre and post dirt and see where I like it best.

Also grats to everyone who posted all the awesome stuff on the past few pages. That Egyptian cab is really killer too. I would love to have something like that but would be horribly afraid of breaking it or scratching it. Are you going to have a road case?

No road case. It's going to get runners along the back and I will probably z-poxy the whole thing so the finish will be very durable. The carved areas are all lower than the wood around them so should be a bit protected. Some bumps and scratches will add to the "Ancient" vibe I'm going for with this. It WILL get a dedicated blanket or something for trips in the van with other cabs, and it will have runners on the back like 8x10's have to slide on.

Also, I might have the opportunity to trade my old, big box MXR Analog Delay for a Boss DM-2. I've never played a DM-2, but I could use the smaller size analog delay since the MXR is huge. The MXR also uses it's own power cord. Anyone use a DM-2 on bass? Would love to hear any feedback/opinions. I'm seeing they both range around the same on the used market, give or take.

I have a Cosmichorus that I really like. Almost set like a flanger. Sounds wierd an synthy when hit with fuzz. The Sea Machine seems like it can do a fuck ton of awesome stuff as well. There is bound to be at least one cool/useable sound in there.

As for other modulation, I've got The Depths (highly recommended to the dudes that were talking about vibes a few pages back, even though I've only had this one) which is set for a fast/watery/almost harmonic trem kind of sound. I have a Whetstone on my other board which is set for retarded slow sweeps to add some weird movement to mah toanz.

When I was only using one amp and board I would run phase and vibe pre dirt; chorus, flange, and trem post dirt. Now it's all post dirt just because I like the effect to be more pronounced since I've got both amps going.
