There are definately no one box solutions, I use mine to sort of get me an oscillator to build off of. Then through other pedals, that I have other uses for as well, I can sculpt it into something that I find useful and unique. I am also willing to bet that most of the video demoes of synth pedals are funktarded or 15 year olds trying to make du[m]bstep.
No way in hell one synth pedal can touch all Foogin goodness but it is possible to get good usable sounds in less space.

I also do synthy stuff with octave, fuzz, filter, modulation and what have you on top. That's my square wave and the MBSS makes the saw wave.

Totally agree with you guys.

I'm falling a bit out of love with the Second Voice Deluxe. Usual synth story. Bass player meets synth. Bass player falls in love with synth. Bass player realizes whoever built synth probably only plays guitar as the tracking under the top string G is almost nonexistent.

FUUUUUUUUUUUU.

But really. There ARE no good dedicated synth pedals for bass. It's either horrible tracking or total cheese fest. Might look into getting a Heavy Machine to cover the synth fuzz and looking into a nice analog octave pedal that does a good harmony and suboctave. What are you fellers using for your octavers?

I know... and that is what it looks like I am going to do... I was running a orbit with my octave and filter and got pretty damn close to my most needed sound... might still pick up a b-ringer if I find a cheap one... but yeah I am going to need another filter... on the other hand.. I can always use more filters anyway...

MXR deluxe most of the time, use the boss just for the freqbox.. really though the MXR is the better pedal.

Also Sousa, IDK about the 2nd Voice DLX tracking, but did you run your other synthy pedals through yourBrain Freeze and Mobius? I mean seriously bro, you should be able to take an alright sound and make it pretty awesome with those two. The Mobius can do so much once you start turning knobs, and the Brain Freeze is an awesome gritty filter, it should add a ton of life to the sound.

Yeah. That's where I'm at. I think if I just get a good octaver and a synthy fuzz, I'll be just fine without the SVD. Too bad. The expression options on it are phenomenal. It really is a great pedal other than the tracking. Which is said about most synth pedals.

Cool ones to check out. Anyone try the Gojira? Sounds interesting.

Not to beat a dead horse but maybe your bass is too much for the SVD, send it down here and I can try it with my passive Dinger. I'll let you know if it works.

FUCK AGUILAR but the Octamizer rules. So does the EBS Octabass.

That being said active basses blow for effects. Sorry dude but it's true.

Also tweeters are fucking forced manrape but that's personal preference.

Aguilar and me are an ehhhhh thing. PM for more info. Sorry for cryptics, I'm running my drunkmouth.

I learned long ago that passive poop and NO tweeters are the righteous path. Too much compromise otherwise.

Again it's all about what works for ye, but those roadblocks can suck it really.

Of course it helps that I prefer the sound of passive basses.
VOODOO MAGICK.

yah. there have been a few times lately i played through my rig and one amp or the other just sounded like ASS. like, sweltering, Sousie's Backyard Mardi Grahhh Ass. and both times it was after a show and somehow the tweater knobs had been bumped up so sound was going through them.

fuck tweaters.

and i never played an active bass i loved. buuuuuut i never played a bass i LOVED until i was rubbing up on a Dinger.
