1. Trout Mask Replica is largely self-indulgent field recordings which should have been shit-canned in favor of releasing a stellar 7- or 8-track EP recorder in a proper studio.
2. Blood On The Tracks is terribly overrated. the closer he comes to real emotion, the more contrived it seems. Rust Never Sleeps is better and more true by several orders of magnitude.
3, Music From Big Pink was the worst thing ever to happen to rock and roll. before The Band popular music was a kaleidoscope of creativity in every thing from pop to prog; after them everyone set to the task i like to call "getting back to someone else's roots." Robbie Robertson doesn't know or understand a thing about America, and his tilted take on US history has been unfortunately influential on generations of songwriters who elide the worst parts of that history in favor of sepia-toned portraits of a land that never existed.

Also in 2020 just, default to no video unless it's a really good idea because who is watching music videos?
10000% agreed. I have had this discussion like a thousand times. The only video I watched (willingly) in the last 5+ years are the ones from OK Go because they are always genius (and I don't even listen to them)
