I wanna throw in my 2c with all the stuff that has been posted...but it would seem the room is spinning fast again.
Nice.
Been busy with my new turntable as well!
But it ain't purdy and green.
At least it's set up and sounding good now...although in fixing the auto start, I undid whatever was going on with the return function.
Fuck it.
Also, built a pedal board today.
Was talking to summit about it. Cost me about $14 or so I figured out.
Carpenter I ain't, but I am gonna blame the $1.20 strips of pine I got from Bunnings.
Warped a bit. Roughly square. Nothing a couple of rubber feet can't fix.
Stained it with Black Japan. Was gonna do a second coat, not sure if I could be bothered.
Oh yeah, Ax, that looks sweet!!!
And conk, that press looks killer. Congrats dude!

Not much difference between that and the Sleep branded everything, is there?
The only thing that rankles about the visibility is that the flags we've planted on those moons grow more tattered and less aloof by the day.

Thanks! It turned out well.
Titanium anodized body, neck, and headstock. Black anodized fretboard, pickguard, and control plate. Raw edges to emulate neck binding and layering on the guards. Brushed Bigsby, pickup covers, and satin hardware. Wired up like a Pawnshop Mustang Special, dual humbuckers each with a 3-way slider to go between inner coil tap/humbucker/outer coil tap.
I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THIS MOFO! Also excited to see it up close. Haven't had many opportunities to check out EGCs in the past.

Agreed. That's pretty cool song--I know the album was getting a lot of love from the best of 2013 end of the year crowd.
Or at least, Profound Lore would have you think that. Anyway. Rad.

Do any of you bassists actually run the big spider on your board?
It was one of the first pedals I experimented with. I got rid of it (I'm looking at you skully.) because of the noise and bass loss, but I've been thinking about it ever since. I just can't get it out of my brain. It was just so extreme and knarly. I talked to Ben about putting a clean blend but he wasn't really interested. I'm thinking about just trying to EQ the bass back in. Or I've been thinking of running one of my heads really dirty EQ'd with less bass and more mids and hi's. I'd like to try it (b.spider) in this setup, but not sure if I'd get the clarity of the notes I'd need. I'd use my second rig for lows with a little od. Just my plans, who knows what it will sound like when it's all said and done.
I have a demon king on the way that I traded a tafm for. I just couldn't get anything I liked out of the tafm. I'm excited for the DK. It doesn't have the hpf/lpf switch. What am I losing by not having it?

Their new album is really great. Also their live sound is sweet. The violins add this claustrophobic feeling and complement the rest of the band extremely well.

Well gatdamn that thing is nice! I haven't had a lot of time to play lately but that is definitely making me want to crank the Iron Pile with mine. What's your amp lineup looking like these days?

Thanks man!
My amps now days consist of the Dunwich Metro and SpaceFlunky's old V2 in a dual amp setup. Also have a Science Amplification Shiv, AC30-ish with better lows and a mean sounding dirt channel. Oh, and a little Marshall JTM 1watt head I use at home that rules.
I'm currently restoring the V2. New tolex, newly brushed and screen printed control plate, new grill and baffle, and full clean up/maintenance/retube on the inside. Should be complete in a couple weeks. I got Mark from BAT lined up to restore a '68 Bassman 50 next.
Had to sell both Hovercrafts and an Orange to fund all this restoration though.

So what would the benefits be of rewiring my cabs from 16 to 4 ohms? Any difference in tone, work the amp more/less?

4 ohms will be more efficient
16 ohms will make it so you can daisychain 4 16 ohm cabs and have a nice 4 ohm load

you know what I do. . . .
