I'm gonna merge this with the other zvex thread. No use having two threads about the same thing that are both bound to spiral into madness.
BTW, that box of Radioshack wires you see sitting next to the box in the vid...if you ever want a super unreliable pedal, use them. They're solid core for extra instability, and some even come pre-broken inside to ensure shoddy operation! haha. Seriously, just a warning about that plastic box of wires from Radioshack.

It's pretty simple, dudes, it's basically just convenient, clever breadboarding.
It's a good idea, I hope it takes off.

Nope. Different box, different wires. Those Chinese wires from RatShack are pre-broken, but mine are custom-made in Democratic Taiwan and bent to exactly 90 degrees over a smooth jig to stop any breakage. In fact, I abused that Inventobox prototype for the entire NAMM show, ripping it open over 100 times to demo it, and in the end, it worked perfectly when Erik Sexe and I tested it during tear-down on Sunday night. Keep in mind, no part of the Inventobox allows flexing of solid-core wires. All solid-cores are locked down tight and not allowed to move or develop any stress points. Every wire that flexes is minimum 7-count multi-strand wire.

Say hi to him from me. He's got a bunch of ZVEX pedals that I sold him. I love Low.

Seriously. He's done a great job. Removable pots were what really sold me on it.
I'll definitely be getting one and would love to make a few modules for it.
if he allows *YOU* to make money off of it

There's no way he could stop me.

Exactly. That's what open-source is all about. Rock on, Devi!

Just my two cents + endorsement of civility....
I bought a Fuzz Factory in summer of 1999 - one of the "red reverse" series, with all the knob descriptions backwards - and it's been by far one of the best pieces of gear I've ever owned. Have used it extensively on probably 100 or so gigs in the years since (mostly improvised music/free jazz type settings) and it's been a tremendously inspirational tool for music-making.
I own a bunch of Devi's stuff too (and want to get some of Tom D's stuff next!), among other things, but must say the FF is a genuine classic and can be used in a wide range of applications.
Initial inspiration was seeing my buddy N.C. use one on a gig, only to discover it was very easy to do quite different (i.e. non-copycat) things with it.... for instance i tend to favor using it with a heavy gated setting so passages of EXTREME fuzz can be abruptly cut off, wich can get things into some saxophonic/raw electronics kinda territory...especially when combined with other fx/physical implements.
A lot of the other Vex stuff is a bit out of my price range, but i hope to add some more to the stable someday. Did a gig with Suzanne Thorpe (flute player from J.Mascis, Mercury Rev) and she was running her flute through several Vex boxes + others and it sounded INSANE/GREAT>...
This probably belongs on the pro-Vex thread Devi started, but i just thought i'd throw it in here to get some warm vibes going amongst everyone.... ha.
