Anyone wanne pull me over the edge and convince me it'll greatly outperform my Rubberneck + DE7 combo? I keeep disovering new tricks when putting different fx in the rubberneck's loop, such an awesome pedal. Too bad the controls don't seem to work properly when there's something in the loop though, and it's also kind of a pain that I have to basicly sacrifise whatver pedal I want to run through the loop.
So instead of the pricey OBNE Rever, I'm thinking of just going with a cheap small set&forget multi pedal, like the Zoom CDR70 :idk:

I know, I know...the only right answer: I should get both
I bought a rever last year and flipped it pretty quickly - I found it really underwhelming. Depending on how you want to use it, the MS-zooms might be a better choice. If you're specifically looking or a reverse verb, the reverb side of the keeley loomer sounds fantastic plus you get an extra fuzz.
Wow no shit. Underwhelming, in what way? What sort of sounds were you after? Don't suppose you ever tried the Minim?
The Keeley Loomer: based on the demos and specs...Meh :idk: The reverse verb sounds rad indeed, but other than that it seems pretty limited, like a RV-6 would do a similar job for less than half the footprint/price :idk: Seems like a nice shoegaze machine though, but a bit too gimmicky/limiting to my taste.

Honestly I was a bit underwhelmed by the Rever too. I got it in a trade, so I never really had any specific use planned for it, but I kept it on my guitar board for awhile. It sounded great, but I just never really bonded with it. Seemed pretty limited in its uses, which we pretty much just ambient everything

My main issue was that running the Rever at 100% in reverse mode led to a weird beat frequency that I couldn't get rid of and remained constant no matter how the delay or reverb settings were set. You'd get this rhythmic/percussive effect that I found hugely distracting and didn't seem to relate in any way to the actual reverb or delay time.

The infinite delay without feedback was cool in theory, but the whole thing just didn't really click. If you had a real use-case for flipping fwd—>rev or rev—>fwd on the fly, then I could see it being very useful but that's not my life. I've never tried the minim.

I still say the Polara/RX-7 has the best reverse out there. I've tried loads others with the worse being the Ventris (terrible) and the next best being the Empress. Not sold yet on the reverse for the Context 2. Or the Context 2 altogether actually. Compared to Rooms it sounds kind of lifeless, but still giving it a go. Will probably keep it for awhile just because it so compact with top jacks with several algorithms to mess with.

The Digitech RV-7 has a wonderful reverse reverb. Maybe the best I've heard. It's only 100% wet, but if you have a line selector or similar pedal lying around, you're ready to go.

But I've found, to my surprise, that the Digitech Digiverb's gated reverb is more of a must than any reverse reverb. (The Digiverb does reverse reverb too, but it's not as great as the RV-7, despite allowing you control over the dry/wet-ratio.)

I don't know if I ever tried the gate on the Digiverb. I had four of those at one point but think i might have sold them all.

I agree, the RV-7/Polara reverse was better than the Digiverb. Cleaner might be a good word for it.

I have a Rever and have used it a few times. I like it but I can see what you all mean. I absolutely hate that giant ass poster it comes with but I haven't used mine with an expression pedal yet or really spent any time with it to see if its a keeper. For what I'm working on I have some ideas for it but I still like the versatility of the line 6 verbzilla.
