Let me get on dem settings; eliminate the possibility of user error...then we'll see if there will be tears. I tend to get lost in certain pet settings with this pedal and I haven't given it the full explore it warrants despite the amount of time I've logged on it....

So--old garage sale find turns up in the bottom of a bin when I was searching for my Pitch Pirate so I could sell that--Arion SCO-1 Compressor. I never even used it since I quit a band just when I bought it and then moved. :picard:

Figured, hmm, Arion seems to be some kinda secret weapon for some people, I'll fling it on the b/s/t bonfire.

But.

This from Ovnilab:

"Arion SCO-1: Wow. This is one of the absolute worst-sounding compressors I have ever heard. It is like playing through a tiny transistor radio. In fact, it's actually a really great lo-fi effect. By cranking up the compression and tone knobs you can get a super biting, snarly, noisy, torn-speaker effect, like playing through a cranked 10 Watt guitar combo amp with a ripped cone. So if you are looking for a "secret weapon" for nasty lo-fi tone, this is a great find."

Well shit, I would actually pay good money for that! :joy: New pedal in the closet day. :joy:

Edit: Do we have a shitty sounding compressor thread? No? I'm totally a sucker for'em. Walco Sustainer, Vox Snake Charmer, dis Arion--what else?

Jen Electronica Dynamic Sustainer. It's got a lo fi tinge to it. ""I don't know how I ended up with it either? Maybe that really old Roland Sustainer?

Pepe mentioned the Hotone Krush in a few threads, so here's this video from last year:

Cheaper than a Scrutator, but the price seems right :idk:

I'm fond of running a LOOP>Dark Interpreter I>Dark Interpreter II>Seppuku IC Water for some serious data hell. Soon I'll add a Dataphase to the chain, but for now this is plenty.
