I wasn't sure if the final product would live up to its idea/potential. Holy shit -- it does and more!

Usually record PGs look cheesy and way too TDPRI/dad rock, but that one actually looks damn good.

Thanks dudes! Turns out the pickguard is actually going to be here today instead of Friday! So hopefully I'll be installing it by night's end. If not, probably tomorrow, and then if not tomorrow, Friday like originally planned since I am off

Annnnnnd it's finally together. I won't say it's 'finished' yet, only because I need to give it a full setup:

Damn it looks cool. I was a bit worried the neck pickup route would show through the guard too much but it turned out alright!

Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

Yeah I was curious how it would turn out as well.
Funny story- so I go to install the pickguard today, and get the neck pickup screwed into the pickguard and go to drop it in.
The freaking humbucker route is a little too low to be able to drop the tele sized pickup into.
So I go to break out my dremel to do some quick routing. The bit I had been using for all of my routing had some steel that was melted onto it so it didn't work.
So then I used another tip that was for sanding, but it had melted aluminum on it. So I kept using it, cause it was KIND OF working.
Next thing I know. SNAP. The actual attachment on the bit just crumbled into pieces. It was made out of like a hard sanding stone type material.
But then I look at it, and underneath of where the attachment was there was ribbed metal that kind of looked like a sanding tip to it. So out of curiosity, I touched the part to the wood, and it worked better than the other two attachments! So then I just ended up doing all of the routing that way. It's not super pretty, but whatever. It works and you can't see it under the pickguard.
I really like these Seymour Duncan rails. They sound like the DiMarzio rail that I have in my Telecaster, except maybe a little bit more mids, MAYBE.
I need to spend some time in the bridge area during the setup and drop the action a bit, it's pretty high. Not like distracting high, but higher than what I had it before I put these new saddles on.
About the bridge- The low E octave string is SUPER close to the edge of the guitar, so it might turn into an 11 string guitar soon. It's not been a super huge issue while I've played it for the few minutes that I have today, but it's just a little meh. I'd rather have a single low E string instead of an octave almost hanging off.
Another thing that I've noticed is the G strings just sound a little off. I'm sure after I do a setup they will sound better, but right now they just sound pretty horrible.
