Watched a couple Kung Fu movies and some Lucha Libre and dreamt I was Sonidero in "Big Trouble in Lil Mexico"...

Oh man, dug up this thread so I could post about the dream I just had that also felt like a movie:

It's about a young black kid (10-12) with a cheapskate dad who is always telling him to "get a job" who has no friends (except the mailman, but he's paid to go to their house every day anyway). He tries mowing lawns and shit but people pay him comically low amounts of money (like just ONE shiny quarter) and other fruitless odd jobs kids do in the summer. There was also a subplot about some lazy teenagers/young adults who work at a home depot/garden supply type store where there's all sorts of weird labor disputes; while their cunning union leader is staging odd political events, they steal a bunch of super high quality soil and stuff but they end up having to dump it in the aforementioned kid's yard. Seeing the dirt, the mailman tells the kid he'll bring over some of "Grandma's authentic Italiana Marinara" which he then pours into a hole in the ground resulting in 8-10 foot diameter tomatoes growing within like a minute. Then the kid sells them and gets a lot of money. I woke up, soI'm not sure where it goes from there.

At one point the kid is talking to his older brother about how he has no friends. The brother asks some obvious question and kid responds "Does the Pope say n****r?"

It's kind of like Friday meets Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.

Just dreamt I was at some music festival, and for some reason got talked into buying a Fender Custom Shop Tele. Was carrying it around, getting sort of desperate because I used up all my money for a guitar I didn't really want. Tried figuring out how to return it and get my money back, but I couldn't seem to find the guy who sold it to me. Luckily I woke up, and was happy to find that I didn't just spend my last money on mojo.

Last night I dreamt I was in the employ of Kim & Kanye: I was North West's manny.

The other night I dreamt that I met Dave Knudson and we both started to fanboy over how awesome Brian Cook is. Then he started texting me photos of Brian's pedal boards over the years.

This old dude, "Professor", and his young assistant, "Blossom" had this whole scheme going where they'd sneak around a Walmart by day, gathering supplies to make meth in the bathroom at night. They lived in the store and stole whatever they needed to survive.

The rest of my dreams have basically just consisted of me dying in violent ways.

The Dalai Lama was in town, stopping by some convention center. I got on the highway after work to go see him, but soon noticed my car overheating and losing oil pressure. The steering locked up and I crashed through the side barrier, sailed through the air and landed on top of a long-abandoned rail car. Apparently there was like a train graveyard thing with a bigass tunnel at one end.

I just sat there for a while until water started flooding in from the tunnel, overtook everything and carried the trains away, along with me.

I woke up and I was in my childhood bedroom on saturday morning in the house my family had to sell and my dad was downstairs making pancakes and my mom was reading the paper at the kitchen table and they were still married

and then I actually woke up

I had a dream i was visiting a former room mate that i hate at her new apartment and she was bragging about how much money she was getting from food stamps while having a full time job at a law firm, and i asked my partner to walk me home and after walking out together i realized said partner is (actually, for real) on a road trip and i was alone, and then i woke up in a strange room on a strange bed at night realizing i had no clue where or what i was. Somewhere at this point i realized i was dreaming and panicked trying to wake up. Woke up and read a book.

I kinda feel like this would be better posted on ilxor, but I just woke up from a dream where I had downloaded this .rar on a website that had scans of an early 80s fanzine-type book written by Steven Tyler detailing all the various influences on Aerosmith. Page after page of him writing like he was Lester Bangs, ranting about 'underground shit' he was 'so into' that 'nobody ever heard of' and how his band was 'way deeper than most people think'. The one line I remember in particular was him talking about getting into 'punk bands, like Heart'. I'm almost disappointed that this doesn't actually exist.
