It's like in-game microtransactions. I wouldn't buy a video game only to have to buy other shit in the game. I buy it to fucking play the game.

Like when I used to play an IPhone game for about a year a few years ago and ended up spending like $200 on fucking tokens. Fuck.

If the other effects were cheap it'd give you the feel of a new pedal without spending much. Regardless it is more cost effective than just having all of the eventide pedals. Can you stack the effects in the h9?

The H9 is the least rock'n'roll pedal of all times. Having to download presets on an iPad or an iPhone...? I'd rather get an iNeken, thank you.

Ok, I finally finished my list of (278!!!) new or updated pedals for NAMM 2013:
http://www.effectsdatabase.com/events/namm/2013

I also uploaded my videos (including some prototypes I didn't see elsewhere) and added them to the pedal pages, or you can find them in my YouTube account here:
https://www.youtube.com/effectsdatabase

As I had some trouble with my video setup(*) I didn't make as many videos as I planned and they're not always as good as I wanted them to be. I have a few more, but there was too much noise on those.
(* partially because of reading something in a manual after my setup was tested and working :-/)

Conclusion: it was really a great show, I saw some great products (already ordered a few things online) and I met a lot great people there (especially Blake & Holly from Gearphoria!).
Too bad that because of a few circumstances I couldn't enjoy it as much as I hoped. I ruined my feet really bad the day before the show (running for a plane with shoes that were not old enough to do that, after 1 day at the show 1 heel looked like a raw steak), getting sick (still coughing and struggling with some bugs now, 2 weeks later :-/), the camera trouble (so frustrating...) and when I arrived at home I saw our cat for a few seconds, then she disappeared for 11 days (but she's back now!). I hope to have better luck at Frankfurt Musikmesse (in 2 months) and also make more and better videos there ;-)

http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/eh/xo/8stepprogram

...EHX’s new 8 Step Program connects to the expression pedal or Control-Voltage input on another device delivering sequencer control over parameters that respond to expression pedals or CV generators such as oscillators, filters, delay parameters, etc. With eight independent sliders, each controlling a sequence step, the pedal can turn an auto-wah into a step filter, a tremolo into a varying rhythmic pulse effect or a pitch-shifter into an arpeggiator.

Sequences can be modified with the pedal’s multi-function Mode switch that delivers control over sequence length, direction, depth and glide rate. There are four direction modes available: forward, reverse, bounce and random.

Sequence rate can be set with the Rate slider, Tap Tempo footswitch, or via MIDI clock which permits syncing to an external device like a drum machine. Five Tap Tempo Divide modes add rhythmic diversity. An expression pedal/CV input enables external, real-time control of rate, depth, glide, and sequence length.

The main unit can save, store and recall 10 user presets. The optional 8 Step Program Foot Controller, which receives its power from the 8 Step Program via a standard guitar cable, expands presets to 100.

The new 8 Step Program pedal with a U.S. List Price of $164.51 and companion Foot Controller at $83.74 will be released in February. Both feature solid die-cast construction and the sequencer includes a 9.6DC-200mA power supply.
