Yay! Glad it works

Nice, good work. Does it sound like a sine wave or still quite choppy? It might still be clipping. Maybe replace 18k with something a little bit bigger something like 22k, 24k, 27k. You might lose a little depth though.

it could be a little sine-er, i'll try bumping the value a little.

so, when working with vero board... can one solder joint be touching another solder joint that's right next to it on the same row?

Yep, so long as its the same row. Different rows touching is not good

did my first vero board pedal, the colorsound 1 knob fuzz from tagboard effects. used the off board wiring diagram on their site, and i'm not getting any signal, bypassed or engaged.

It looks weirdly upside down/backwards on the board. Like the link is on the left then everything else is upside down

That wouldn't affect the bypass though. Did you double check that the jack tips are going to the switch? Make sure your tips aren't shorting to ground.

Yeah, I did that because I was confused about reading the vero layout. Like, they use the same picture of the board to show where the components go as the picture to show where the cuts and links go... and since that picture has the strips on it i just figured they were showing me the bottom side, so I did it with that logic in my mind. If you were to hold the pedal like I'm holding it in the pictutre and pull it out and turn it back away from you to see the underside, the layout would match the picture. Haha.

I think I may be confused about the jacks. I have a bunch of different kinds and they're all slightly different. The tip (or what I've been assuming is the tip) on the jacks that I'm using for this are connected to metal that is touching the enclosure when they're screwed in, the tap closes to where you put in a plug. I double checked the wiring so I must be confusing something..

It's kindof confusing how they show the strips at first, but assume that's all looking at the board from the top (component) side.

Even where it just shows the cuts and links that's from the top. So what I normally do is put a dot on the top with a marker where each cut goes and then I flip it over and cut the traces.

On the jack, look at the tab that's part of the little collar that goes around the base of the plug and touches the enclosure. This is the sleeve and you're going to wire it to ground.

Since you're using mono jacks, there's only one other part and that is the tip. The tips get wired to the switch and you don't want them to be contacting ground at all.

thanks again bukowski, i re did the board last night cause it sounded like low volume crackly nothingness, but now it's sounding good.

Those are switching jacks, too, right?

Nice job! That's one of the reasons why it's great to buy extra parts when you're starting out.

They have three tabs so... yeah? Not really sure what switching jacks are, so feel free to enlighten.
