Audio bus is sweet, finally downloaded that samplr and multi track. Gonna start using my itrack solo to record some guitars and really get into using my ipad as a recording device. Really GASing for the alesis io dock and a keyboard controller though. May have to put the itrack solo up in b/s/t to fund it.

if you're going to record check out the IO Mix. it's.... interesting.

i might go to that just for the dock/lightning ability and the way it clips up and holds the pad inside.

i could see someone bumping my stand and the pad sliding out. that would suck.

Unfortunately it does look that way.

Here's a kick ass granular app. Needs a better way to import your own samples and more options for export and audiobus support but the interface is really nice! Really good tutorial video. Hope Chris continues to develop the app.

Does the io mix have midi? That's mainly what I was looking for. Although if I was just going for the mixer format I would maybe spend the extra cash on the mackie dl806, try to score one used cheaps.

Yap, it looks much more fun with an ipad

Definitely. With one sequencer it's kinda meh, but with two sequencers it's much more :!!!: .

Well no, I want to record too. If I'm doing both, I would rather it be in one unit. The io dock would suit my needs, but if the io mix had midi, it'd be nice to have the added inputs/be able to use it as a small format mixer if I wanted too

Gotcha, I misunderstood (didn't read all the above posts). Yeah one unit is the way to go. Seems like most devices are either all audio or all midi. That's a damn shame.

any of you with Audiobus care to explain it a little bit? I got it and I have used it but I just don't think I'm using it right, any recommendations on app combos?

Drums are from the DM-1 Drum Machine app, recorded with Meteor. Only complaint is I accidentally hit the undo button a few times. I also used the ipad's built in microphone for vocals as my mics are back home. Anywho here it is. :thumb:

well crap. i thought the IO Mix had midi in outs. because it's just silly not to.

but it doesn't. sooooooooo..... that makes it useless, at least to me. i like the lockin design better, but i'm going to have to stay with the IO Dock.

the thing about usb interfaces is then you're using the lightning or dock port so you can't charge your pad at the same time. with the Dock when you slide it in (giggety) it's a connection and charger. yerp.

Yea, I don't like how the itrack solo interface doesn't charge, and I've got to hook the interface into the wall and then the interface into the ipad. Plus if im recording direct or with a mic or both, too many wires. Gets annoying and the things light so it really won't stay in one spot if you move either the ipad or the mic cable.
