I'd say my v2 sounds better than my v4 hands down as well but I'd be lying to myself if I didn't say it's a subtle difference. It's almost the same with the v4 being slightly darker and more intense. My v2 is smoother and more balanced and goes faster. Other than that it's really hard to tell the difference.

I love the Phase on my Peavey Mace VT too, OTA based but not sure if it's based off one of the classics til I have a good look at it again. It sure sounds different to my Sovtek Smallstone though.

Earthquaker Grand Orbiter seems to me to be a perfect phaser. Then again i just love Earthquaker in general.
