The thread was in response to a pretty intense rant someone else made about people buying low and selling high or something to that effect.
This thread has sorta diverted into a different direction.

Who was that guy? Every time he talked, I cringed a little. Like, shit... you and everyone like you is missing the point. >.<
His name's Jack Waterson, (used to be?) the bass player for Green on Red, runs a music store in California called
Future Music.
You cringed because he's right, and he's actually on your side in this argument.

You mean

like a Gibson Les Paul or a Marshall 2203?

I apologize if I communicated in such a way so as to cause offense. That wasn't my point at all. If the point is famous people making good gear inaccessible, then yes, that sucks. I wouldn't say that good quality stuff should be outrageously priced, but I would certainly say that good quality stuff should always cost more than crap. I couldn't care less about famous people making crap equipment cost more like this:
Zakk Wylde whoring himself out to Marshall claiming how the Marshall MG and Valvestate amps are so great you could record an album with them.veteransdaypoppy wrote:Zander wrote:That's like saying Ron Jeremy's penis has magical powers that makes skanky vaginas feel better.

Nice bloke, top shop too. Rescued my beat up analog delay for 15 bucks.

i think the preface to the line "the only thing that matters is resale..." is as important
since musicians never have money, can't hold a job or need drug money is why the only thing that matters is resale.

...though it sin't true - for me (at least not any more) - I have always liked gear with a story to tell.
