Yeah, sounds more comb filter-y than ring mod-y to me too. Great tone whatever it is!

Isn't that all it is, really? It does interest me tho... but I'm running out of board space

Yeah, but with some extra pitch shiftery crap in there as well.

Tried it, didn't like it very much. Since VSTs are an option, I'd go with Audio Damage BigSeq2.
http://www.audiodamage.com/effects/product.php?pid=AD022Sequencer controlled amp, filter, distortion, delay, bitcrusher... it's a pretty awesome plugin. And it's only $50.

are there any other pedals that do Slicer modulation besides the Boss one & the Kaoss Pad. VSTs are unfortunately not an option ATM. i was fucking around w/ this Slicer function on this DJsynthboxxx thing i have & i kind of like what it was doing to the sounds--it was kind of making weird-off beat Black Dice & Fuck Buttons type stuff--which was cool but this thing doesn't have an input.
i'd maybe buy the Boss Slicer becuz i secretly told myself i'd maybe hold my nose & get either this or the RE-20 but hmmm IDK...halp...

The Murf?

does the Murf do Slicer modulation. i'd even consider a Multi-FX that has a Slicer patch. i was thinking about maybe getting a mini KP & just using it solely for that function. IDK. its not really that big of a deal now. i was having a lot fun today--
the thing is. the Slicer doesn't sound like a Tremolo at ALL to me. i know my problems would be solved if i just str8-up got the Boss Slicer but unless i could get one for a really decent price, i'd really couldn't see myself getting a Boss twin (but i would if it was my only option pedal-wise...).

Well I guess it depends on what you consider "slicer modulation" to be. The murf is basically a step sequencer with 24 patterns, that cycle through a bunch of band-pass filters, and you can control the volume of each band-pass filter, which basically allows you to create rhythmic patterns. The slicer seems to be a pretty damn similar thing to me, i.e. a step-sequencer that modulates the frequency of a filter. It is definitely not a tremolo at all.

thanks i am gonna check it out. i'd rather go Moog than Boss.
alright. so i googled and, thus far, it looks like my options are: Boss Slicer, Adrenalinn 3 & KP3/miniKP

sweet. thanks. checking out the Murf now. i'm thinking maybe some sort of arpeggiator type effect might work e.g. the WMD Gieger Counter but IDK if that is really necessary though for what i need.

Does anyone know how HEALTH get this bass sound in "In Violet":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxPN0Drvb-gI know it's a bass through a BOSS Slicer, but I'm wondering if they are using any other effect pedals on the bass signal, or is it possible to get such a sound just with the Slicer?
