What's wrong with a Blender? Keep your eyes open for an old Ace Tone FM2 -- you see them on ebay sometimes for <$200. Snap it up if you do. Or how about a super fuzz? Grab an old National Fuzz wah and ignore the wah....that's a vintage FY6 in there. I got one for $30. Sounds awewsome. SolidgoldFX does the 76 fuzz, which is an Ibanez Standard Fuzz, and very similar to the Super-Fuzz -- they have a deal on at Moog Music in ...wherever the hell it is in Canada.
i run my fuzzhugger great wall into a mellowtone trumpet fuzz for tony iommi mustache leads!!!
i did a short drunk clip for blooghost last night but i cant figure out how to load it here. if you pm me your email i will be happy to send it to you!

i am a huge fan of the fuzzhugger circuits and tom is building me something down right insane right now!!!
he also has the large wolf computers on sale now and you can get some pretty crazy boosts out of that. you can get some not crazy stuff too and as a stand alone pedal it is awesome!!! http://fuzzhugger.com/pedal-wolfcomputer.html
ok, i did not mean to turn this into a fuzzhugger fx commercial so i will go now...

It's okay, 'cause everything you said it true. I've got something custom in the works right now as well! Tell me what you're getting, I'll tell you mine (in PM fashion of course)
Hey Guys, thanks for all the responses. I actually went with the Never Drive because I found a used one for $65. The pedal just arrived, so I can't wait to give it a go. I'll definitely give some feedback. Basically I play a strat (bridge humbucker) into Dr. Z Z-28, slightly overdriven. I use a Zvex Box of Rock for distortion / boost. So I'll try the ND both before and after the BOR, should have a chance tonight since the pedal has just arrived!
Alrighty, going to give some feedback. The Never Drive running after Box of Rock is way too tinny. It's pretty thin sounding and super trebly. In fact running the pedal solo is too tinny for me too. To get the goods, you really have to turn your tone knob way down - which I can't do on the fly when I'm trying to hit a boosted solo off my standard overdriven tone. You could eq your amp and tone nob to dial in a warmer tone that sounds pretty good, but still that's not useable for me unless recording.
Running this pedal with tone down and after an octave down pedal produces some AMAZING fuzz tones - but how often will I use that live? My guess is this pedal is great for bass. It also has absolutely massively amount of volume, I pretty much keep both nobs almost dimmed to the left. The ND has a few speeds and they start at full on. crazy. Anyway I did find a great usable tone by placing it before the BOR. The BOR tames the trebly-ness and you're left with a really smoldering overdrive/fuzz hybrid with some of the octave up stuff coming through from underneath the primary octave - i definitely dig it. It stays on my pedal board.
