Oh and although it's a bit Blackmore... using Preamps from vintage gear = epic win for overdrive... never know what you'll get but some gear sounds awesome.

The Boss OD-1 is similar to a TS, but it has asymmetrical clipping and no tone stack to accentuate mids. It's wide open!
Signed on the Rat... gain low, volume high, filter to taste... it's great for nasty 70's guitar rock sounds. I usually break it out when I'm in the mood to play Rush hehe. Also signed on the Red Llama. I build a variation of it, and it's a lot beefier and has more clarity despite being about as dirty as a Rat. I used it as my dirty channel for a long time.
I hear a lot of good things about the Singing Tree. It's pretty unique. I might have to pick one up.

I'm loving my EQD White Light OD. I got it a few weeks ago, and it really does sooo much. Really wide gain range, and the weight knob is kind of a bass heavy gain stage, and is great for adding some girth to single coils. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the compressed mode, but that's mainly because I don't like compressed overdrive in general.

MI Audio Tube Zone.
the basic sound resembles a tube screamer a bit, but the eq has so many more possibilities than a basic screamers tone knob. It lets the guitar's own natural sound through and it's dead silent. Niiice....

I liked the Rumble MOD but I prefer the Rumble ODS. Have you tried a Rust Driver? Very cool, but makes everything sound like Angus Young.
Nope I haven't actually for me t has to work on bass too as bass is my main instrument [that's why I like the MOD, it kills on bass].... Doesn't mean I don't want one though.... I love HAO's stuff, my favorite is The Roar I have #s 2, 45, 47 & 100.
Hmmm... not sure how the Rust Driver would work on bass. Sounded killer on guitar though...as long as ACDC is your thing. I was hoping for more of a Paul Kossoff kinda thing but too crunchy.
One day, you have to try a DAM Ezekiel. I had an early one that wasn't
so bass tuned so it still sounded good with guitar.
I have another old Hot Tubes on the way since I traded away my last one and I'm on the lookout for an early PTP transistor Muff Fuzz (that one in the pic Blurillaz posted was mine -- PCB + opamp).

Yeah, I don't really need a AC/DC in a box. Really I don't even really have the need for another overdrive pedal any more......

Actually... I don't have that KP anymore... I gave it to my guitarist, I have a KP/DB twin to replace it.... That through the Orange is bliss.

Boss OD-1, people say it's a tubescreamer clone...
However, it was on the market before the TS-808. the plot thickens!
And the original used an LM3404 quad opamp vs the TS-808s JRC 4558 dual opamp.

Yeah, good pedal it like the TS though isn't the thickest sounding to me so I find them like the TS only good for specific things.
I actually have a original one around here somewhere.

The Taxi Driver is a clone of the original OD-1 I like it better in a lot of ways than my original TS-9.

Original OD-1s can be had pretty cheap too. I've seen them go from $80-$150 USD, with SS ones going for the upper range of course.
