i like them, but after they fired one of my best friends, Juan Montoya on guitar, i kinda lost interest.

FLOOR was awesome......i saw some of their shows in small clubs, they would BLOW THE DOORS off :joy:

i wish them nothing but success, but i think the way they screwed over Juan is gonna come back to haunt them karmically..... :excellent:

Juan was awesome :[

i guess karma struck that time their van got broken into...

I saw them open for OM. Juan Montoya was the best part about them. I am real picky about metal but that guy rocked. He was fucking amazing great stage prescence and totally in control.Great guitar playing and tone, Bummer about him getting the boot.
...and then my mind split open.

yes, Juan's new band MONSTRO is already touring and making a name for themselves.

however, the gear ripoff that happened to Torche was BRUTAL, and i would not wish that on anyone

I got a text from Jon Nunez last night that him and Billy Anderson were in the studio messing around with an LP through a Musket into a Model T/Orange cab. Rock and roll.

I saw them a couple of years ago when Juan was still in the band. I can definitely say they were one of the best live sounding bands I've heard. I wonder what they sound like as a 3-piece now...I doubt youtube does it any justice.

I saw 'em recently, they still sound monsterous, they just have some dude with a flying V instead of Juan. It's still really good. But Juan was awesome.

“Last night in Chicago our van got broken into and a bunch of our equipment got stolen. Among the stolen equipment was both of Jon’s bass guitars (custom first act and custom electrical guitar company), our new guitar player’s custom guitar, Steve’s black les paul custom, Steve and Jon’s pedal boards, all our guitar stands, bags of cables and strings, and a bunch of personal bags that included check books, passports, IDs, etc etc…

Since 3 out of the 5 of us lost our passports, we won’t be able to play our shows in Canada now on May 18th and 19th. We’re trying to find anyone interested in setting up last minute house shows/small bar shows around the Northeast to try and make some extra money. The total of all our shit that got ripped off easily exceeds $10,000 and we just borrowed money to put a down payment on a new van before this trip, so we’re in a bad situation right now.

sucks.

Saw Torche last night in Northampton, MA with High On Fire and Kylesa.

Great show. Played a lot of new songs. Excellent set all around. Better than the Brooklyn Boris show, I thought.
