Personally I'm a Firebird type of guy above all else, but a Mustang would be cheaper to build. Plus the woman loves old 'stangs, so I would use that as an excuse to motivate me. Odds are it isn't going to happen for a number of years anyhow, but by then we'll be living in a Beyond Thunderdome type of world (hopefully) so it will be an exercise in futility anyhow.

cars use horsepower so they can fail, but if we found a way to build cars that use wolfpower....

Chick car
I'm a Pontiac person.
Show me a GTO and I get all wet and gooey.
But knowing a few tricks an old Lemans or Tempest would do almost as well.
Did you know (factoid info here) that Pontiac used the same block for the 326, 389, 400, 421, 426 and 455?
It’s just a matter of boring and stroking. All the heads, intakes etc will bolt right on.
So you could build a 326 with ram air IV heads and a 3x2 or 2x4 setup.
Oops slipped into motor head mode.

Steve McQueen had a 'stang.
I like old luxury cars myself. Europa special anyone?

Sweet, I didn't know that. I'd much rather have a Pontiac anyhow, if/when I finally do a build I'll probably hold out for a 'bird. Momz drove a '69 Firebird 400 (brand new) so they are definitely in the blood.

Much love for the European '90s

I think that really being a Car Dude has to involve loving more than one era. My favorites are late '60s muscle cars (Pontiacs in particular), mid '80s Japanese cars and trucks (Honda and Toyota respectively), I would likely kill for a BMW E46 M3, and I currently drive an '04 WRX (lesbian wagon, but of course) whilst shopping for a newer Jeep (either a TJ or wait for the alleged JK diesel).
My only requirement for Car Love is that it has to be a manual. I fucking hate automatics.

I love the under 60 horsepower Japanese oldies. But I love any classic car or Japanese Import. I used to be obsessed with cars before I could drive, playing any racing game I could find for my ps2.

Which lead to my immense collection of Initial D manga.

If you don't think fuzz and cars are directly linked, you've clearly never driven through the desert at 120mph blasting Kyuss, Hendrix, or [insert loud band of your choice], but I strongly suggest that you try it some time.

An empty highway, a Maserati and Led Zeppelin.
Of course I got a ticket and 1000 points one early Sunday morning, but it was worth it.

I love a lot of the classics (especially old Jags). But my favorite car of all time is one I owned for about 4 years. I was forced to sell it when I was laid off and my benefits ran out back in '04. I will have another one some day ...

That generation RX-7 is quite possibly the most beautiful car in the history of everything. I've never even been inside one, but they continue to make me look like this dude whenever I see them:
WRX turned 90,000 miles yesterday, bought it with 8 on the odometer. I've never put this many miles on the same vehicle, and I've loved everything about it... except the dead alternator that left me stranded in the middle of the desert just a few weeks ago.

Other than that, here's to hopefully 60k more before I sell/kill it.
