It depends on my mood...

If I'm feeling nostalgic it's the Smashing Pumpkins.
If I want to crank some music loud, or daydream about smashing personal property, it's Nine Inch Nails.
For everything else, it's Radiohead.

But, those bands could really work in any of those categories.
There's some old Radiohead (especially The Bends & Pablo) that gets me feeling very nostalgic.
There's plenty of Smashing Pumpkins songs that I could turn up and smash pumpkins to.
Trent Reznor may be the industrial king, but he is extremely capable of writing uber beautiful music.

But as for a FAVORITE, that's a tough one to nail down, and completely context dependent. The answer careens between The Who, Screaming Trees, Metallica (pre-Load, please), Yo La Tengo and Fugazi.

Hm.

The more I think about that one, the less I know the answer.

I choose Yo La Tengo for you. :thumb:

:erm:

The Smashing Pumpkins

but I honestly feel Arcade Fire is a much better band that I can also relate to. And Jack White is my hero.

Ace of Base?
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.
