MannequinRaces wrote:The Fender Blender. Does anyone have a reissue or an original one? If so, what do you think of it? I saw one at a local music store and learned that Fender reissued it. The pedal looks cool and sounds cool. It definitely nails the Hendrix and Smashing Pumpkins sounds that I've been looking for.

I just bought one and I love it to death. I posted recently about how much I loved it and that was only through board and speakers. I jammed with it over the weekend and the thing really KICKS ASS! Through an amp and pumped loud this thing is mighty as all hell.

It's not just octave... you can get a really disgusting raw hard fuzz sound that will make your face really scrunch up. You have to be careful to resist the urge not to chop people up after playing this thing!

To give you a perspective, I'm selling my RAT and this is replacing it. I still have RAT emulation through my DigiTech so if I need that sound it's there but the Blender is the way to go if you want to truly be macho!

Volume drop when engaged, then the tone was just kinda...flat. All fuzzed up and all, but kinda flat. I've heard better clones.

Could you recommend one then that won't cost an arm and a leg?

$115 on eBay... I personally think the volume issue is overblown. I was able to get unity gain with the Blender and my RP250 and a loop switch.

And yes, Hendrix tones are definitely possible. I was looking exactly that in the Octavia clone I bought but that one sucked compared to the Blender....

so yeah I like the reissue but that's probably because I never had the original...
