Personally, I wouldn't let a builder's personality determine whether or not I'm interested in their effects. Unless they do something so dickish (or personally offensive) that you can't get beyond that or just associate douche-ness with their effects. There are a lot of artists I like, musicians, etc, that are probably dicks or have personality issues. As long as the tone, product, and price are ...then,

I hope nobody is put off by their pedals after that thread...I've owned/own the sft, scod, semaphore and wiio and they've all been fantastic, especially the wiio.

What did I miss? People don't like Zachary? Never met him but the one interaction I had with him on TGP -- in a long weird thread about magic mojo mumbo jumbo in which he was the champion of the reality-based community -- I came away from thinking what a cool guy he is, and smart too. I can imagine running into someone like that could rub some people the wrong way, but it's an opportunity for growth: he's right, you're wrong, now move on.
