so is teh Catalinbread honcho a douche too. do i need to unfollow Catalinbread on Twitter? i was actually thinking about picking up a Heliotrope someday but its not really a must have.
i think it sucks that thread got locked becuz this is teh only place where an honest discussion can be had about that dude & it sucks some para-discussion elsewhere triggered teh thread being locked.
also. Owls symbolize death & misfortune in some
cultures. Mojave Indians believe one turns into an owl after
death..

Personally, I wouldn't let a builder's personality determine whether or not I'm interested in their effects. Unless they do something so dickish (or personally offensive) that you can't get beyond that or just associate douche-ness with their effects. There are a lot of artists I like, musicians, etc, that are probably dicks or have personality issues. As long as the tone, product, and price are

...then,

This.
I hope nobody is put off by their pedals after that thread...I've owned/own the sft, scod, semaphore and wiio and they've all been fantastic, especially the wiio.

What did I miss? People don't like Zachary? Never met him but the one interaction I had with him on TGP -- in a long weird thread about magic mojo mumbo jumbo in which he was the champion of the reality-based community -- I came away from thinking what a cool guy he is, and smart too. I can imagine running into someone like that could rub some people the wrong way, but it's an opportunity for growth: he's right, you're wrong, now move on.
Disclosure: I have a lofi loop junky.

Let this be a lesson to us all - always listen to NewarkWilder. Except maybe about Phish.
I keed, I keed - I just like giving NW a hard time. It's clearly a sign of a schoolyard crush or something. If he had pigtails, I'd probably pull 'em and run away.

Newark probably wouldn't have gotten so sagely, had he not gone to Phish and had that shroom induced revelation
