I need to get some reverb on my board. My girlfriend knows the way to my heart is pedals so she offered to get me one for christmas and im leaning towards the cathedral, since i see a few of you use it could ya give me some insight pretty much the only feature i really want is reverse and the infinite on the cathedral seems cool but not completely needed.

Well you probably don't want your girlfriend dropping $200 on ya or she may think you're being a mooch, maybe go for the Digitech Hardwre reverb,it has reverse and other goodies, and I believe the reverbs were designed by Lexicon.

haha she just got a $200 necklace for her gift that she picked out so shes going for the same price range. we usually keep birthdays and all that stuff small gifts and go big for the holidays to make up for it its easier to plan ahead but thats besides it. Ill def check out the digitech time to spend the rest of the night on youtube watching demos. thanks for the advice

lucky man.
bottom line. i need a dedicated reverb pedal that does reverse. it doesn't do reverse i don't need it. bottom-line. i have a Tapco 6001RB for spring and a Kaoss Pad for digital Korg reverbs. so either the Digitech Hardwire or the EHX Cathedral. the later is what i want...

seriously. the Cathedral is like $50 more & has more features. you'd be hard pressed to find a used Hardwire Reverb for a price that would warrant not buying it new. trust me, i've looked.

yeah im a very lucky guy. yeah i saw that its only like 50 bucks more so i think the cathedral is going to be the way for me. oh man waiting a month is going to be terrible. but christmas will be the noisiest one yet in my house i also have a jaguar coming to me thanks to my moms incredible haggling skills that i didnt know she had, and the willingness to loan me some of the money towards it if i held out till christmas for it so she didnt have to look for a gift.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who loves pedals saying "Fuck everything, get a Fender amp for the best reverb". I do really dig the Spring Chicken samples I've heard though. My only problem is the lack of thunder when you kick a pedal. And why doesn't Fender make an aftermarket reverb spring? I broke mine playing in a surf band, and got the standard Fender/Marshall replacement spring, and it just ain't the same...
EH Big Muff Pi, Zvex Mastotron, ProCo Rat, Devi Ever Spectacular Aenima, Fuzzhugger/Mellowtone Wolf Computer, ILF Arc Flash, AlgRoar (Custom), Phantom Octave, MXR Blue Box, Phase 90, Carbon Copy Delay, El Grande Bass Fuzz, Radial Tonebone Plexitube, Ohnoho Chk Chk Boom, Mojo Hand Sugar Baby
Need more fuzz!
Need more fuzz!

i feel the same way. i am getting sick of that pathologie: i'm not buying a Fender amp for reverb, for cleans...forget it...that's fucking retarded.
i also become a little annoyed when people are like such & such has a better Hall. or this one or that one does a better "sounding" spring. hmm okay fine but does it do reverse. okay then. i would tap the Behringer Reverb Machine so hard if that son of a bitch did reverse. give me some motherfucking reverse pliz thank you.

Re: Fav Reverbs?
Look into a Yamaha Magicstomp.
It's pretty much Yamaha rack effects (like the SPX90) in a stomp-box form.
And YES, it can do reverse reverb! Quite beautifully actually, I'll try and get up a sound clip sometime tomorrow.
It's got beautiful reverbs and delays, pretty sweet chorus/flanger/phaser sounds, and pretty decent distortions/overdrives. And then there's some weird crap on there that you wouldn't expect.
The only thing about the Magicstomp is that it's a multi-effects pedal. But it's not like a Zoom or anything where its supposed to take over your whole board.
The Magicstomp is to be used more like a single pedal wherever you need it. If you need a flanger pedal, set it for flanger. If you need a reverb, set it for reverb.
Thats what I'm using it for - I have like 10 presets I use, 6 are reverbs (two reverse, one plate, one hall, two modulated reverbs) and the others are phaser, flanger, and two pitch shifters.
Some people say it colors the tone, but I don't know, I don't hear it much through my rig. And one cool thing about it is that you can set is as an on/off switch and two buttons to cycle through presets, or you can set up 3 presets and use each button for each, DL4-style. My only complaint is that it runs on AC power and it's giving me a bit of a ground loop.
