I play a Fender HH Baritone primarily with an A tuning and with the high 2 strings tuned to each other. The Zvex Mammoth, Super Massive Black Hole, Soda Meiser or SM derivatives like a Synth Mangler all sound good with little bass suck. Obviously the Super Massive and Soda Meisers are better value than the Mammoth as far as monies, but offer less control. If you're playing higher register open tuning stuff on it, the Fuzz Factory (ubiquitous I know, but its still a good circuit to my ears), Devi Ever/Effector 13 Improbability Drive, Devi Shoegazer are very good. Just got a Legend of Fuzz as well and that works nicely, surprisingly even on bass. These aren't the only good pedals, they're just the ones I own and can speak for.
I use a Bandmaster Reverb head if that matters to you, but my bassist has tried all these and he uses an Ampeg.

I'm sure the Dwarfcraft stuff is good, I just haven't gotten any yet.

the guitar that you're using is pretty important in making this decision, GreenLegs. you got singles in there, or 'buckers? if it's the old Jaguar baritone (singles), then you get can downright nasty with just the the rhythm circuit and a Rat or a Muff, like HazelWould said. If its something like the Ibanez baritone (buckers), a Shiva will absolutely destroy everything that dares to get in its way, leaving nothing more than a steaming pile of bloody ears laying strewn about the room.

In my experience, those are some pretty low output pups that Dano's using... The Muff will probably sound really squishy while the Rat will be more trashy and abrasive-sounding. I'd say, if you're trying to stand out in a band situation, to go with the Rat... Wouldn't want to get buried under the bass guitar. In either case, you should bring your guitar to the store with you and try both of those out, then let us know what you think from there.

If you are using those low output lipsticks, then I would further add that I use a Jazzmaster with the vintage Seymour Duncans that are comparable in output tuned to a B or C. The aforementioned pedals I listed sound good with it as well, but I would still stick with a Super Massive or Sodameiser to keep it a bit tighter. I think these two are a bit less flubby than the my Muff (v4 type). But yeah, really looking forward to trying Dwarfcraft since Aen seems to be a baritone/drop tuner as well. Wouldn't be surprised if there would be a low end bias to his designs.
