If you want to know a secret...the roland jc120 is an AMAZING combo. I dont give a fuck what anyone says about solid state and all that shit...you can get some GREAT tones out of it and can usually find them used for CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP cause people are snobby assholes. EDIT: oh and you can totally kick this thing off the stage and hit it with guitars and shit cause theyre built like a brick shithouse!

True story. I lugged mine all aver Manhattan. And you can kick it for that spring rattling around sound! But if you're looking for something smaller you could try a JC 60. It's a 1x12. And I defy you to find a pedal it won't take.

and with that I think I want you to stick around this forum forever

and this!

I have a Blackheart Handsome Devil combo and a JC-60. They're both incredible amps and I always walk away smiling after I play through either one.

I'm really curious as to what the "distortion" on the JC amps sounds like.

In my opinion it's pretty artificial sounding. I suppose it doesn't hurt to have on-board distortion if you're in a pinch but I don't really dig the sound of it. If you're super curious I can make a clip for you :bob:

Does Behringer make a tube screamer? It's actually not bad at really low levels...

I'd go for the JC60. Mostly because I want a Jazz Chorus really badly but can't justify getting one so I want to live through you.

Also: Johnny Marr heavily used them when he was in the Smiths.
