i would seriously consider it if not for the issues involved in taking essentially any of my gear to another continent. can’t put pedalboards in the overhead because they’re too heavy, and i’m nowhere near dumb enough to have them or guitar(s) in the cargo bay. i could send stuff via USPS or the delivery services, which i once did with my Blueridge J-45 when going from SF to Chicago to visit an old bandmate, but a 50-pound pedalboard case or an electric guitar would be screamingly expensive. i don’t see the point of traveling somewhere to play without any of my equipment.

I'm one of those people who would ideally bring everything I own to go anywhere, and I always pack three times more than I need, so I get the inclination.We all just tend to bring a few things and mix it up. Part of the fun is trying stuff you don't already have at home, and experimenting with combinations. Getting some GAS and handing out some in the process. Like this year we did a RAT shootout and a BAT muff shootout, then we all mostly disagreed in a wholesome way on which ones were the best. It's like the forum IRL. It's great!
