Here is the first recorded example I have that I can think of. The tape loop-esque drone in this demo is a loop from MOOD's Stretch mode. I recorded a long take where I adjust the clock. Then chopped it up into clips of the different speeds and pasted them into sections of the song to emphasize transitions. First speed change is around 0:47. Higher clock during the chorus at 1:30ish. Highly likely I used the Fairfield Shallow Water to process the loop as well since there are pitch dips.

i would be remiss to omit the Fairfield Circuitry Randy's Revenge. i get a plethora of weird dings, honk!s, and THUD/BOOMs depending on the settings. with the right input it's instant Thomas Köner.

The Roger that intimidates me a bit- but maybe it’s worth rummaging through the harshness.

I used to have a Csidman, maybe I didn’t plumb the depths enough? Worth a look if I can find one cheapish.

I’ve always listed after the karman line- do you have one? What’s it like?

Massive Dreadbox fan- just remembered they have a phaser that can probably get weird too.

I bought the Roger That for its extremes. I suppose you could use the same fix, that works for the Csidman---put it in an FX loop, in order to manage its feral nature. I was not a Csidman fan, until I put it in the loop of the Rubberneck. Now I don't have to worry about any inconsistencies with the evolving glitches or volume spikes. Inside the loop, I can dial in the precise mix of glitchiness a sound needs.

I do have a Kármán. It's another PT2399-based pedal, so not necessarily the best delay for overall versatility, but it is fun to have the joystick for fine-tuning adjustments or harnessing oscillating feedback.

i'm also in the "intimidated by Roger That because i'm not Collector/Emitter" group, but the idea is certainly appealing. i can see a place for the off-tuned radio effect in the looping space.

Sadly this is wayyy too expensive for me, but if you want a broken reberb through a wrecked amp sound, it is even better sounding than a DBA reverberation machine (based on the demo)

If you already have a fuzz with a sag control, you could pair it with a SolidGoldFX Counter Current (lo-fi verb with latching feedback). Those can be picked up for about $150 USD.

Thanks echorec for the suggestion! Spending on gear has to be at an absolute minimum for the next three years; my son hopefully starts university this year and I am trying to pay his fees so he doesn’t get a huge debt.
