Didn’t know those Redlines were soft V—my Detour isn’t, but it’s a delightful smallish C that killed my big-neck snobbery. Based on basic model similarity, I’ve had a soft stalk in place for bargain Redlines. The maple-core-poplar-wings bodies that Godin used for a lot of solid finishes in this period is a very good sounding mix.

When I saw Jandek a few years back he was playing a Godin and it piqued my interest. I haven't been able to wrap my claw around one of those necks to try it out, though.

I guess I never reported back that I ordered a 40th Anniversary Squier Tele from the bad internet bookstore when they had a sale and it's really good. It's the "vintage" edition, not the gold one. I'm going to swap out the pickups but the neck is quite comfortable.
