AudioThing began their BF festivities today (up t 70% off), and debuted a new plugin (which can sound like the pitter patter of raindrops or a sequenced filter).
I ran a piano loop through Bubbles, and it's one of the most psychedelic effects I've ever heard. (free trial available, if you want a test run) --Use the randomizer for spontaneous, squished patterns. Increase the number of bubbles for the weirdest sounds (up to 10), or reduce the number for more traditional filter sounds (4 or less).
As for other AT stuff...? I have no idea how well-known Fog Convolver 2 is, but it's one of the most unique reverbs available (on any platform)---it's like a living thing. It produces so many exotic & haunting resonances/timbres. It's more of a texture generator than a spatial device. There are lots of other goodies (Wires, Noises, Latin Percussion). It wouldn't be difficult to produce multiple albums with just AT plugins and each could sound different.
For anyone interested, I'd recommend changing the settings on Bubbles to keep the randomizer & preset manager on---otherwise, you have to hover the mouse to make those controls reappear.

Thanks for the heads up on Fog Convolver. Always assumed it was just another convolution program, never took an interest.
The AT plugin I use the most is Speakers. It's really great for easily creating different tones. So many times I've had some sound that I like but my mix is starting to clutter up and throw Speakers on it, fiddle a bit and it sounds awesome in a way that I hadn't imagined.

When I finally finish something, I will definitely be using Speakers & Gong Amp at the end of my chains. For daily sketching, I use Wires more than anything, just because it's so immediate.
I've never imported my own custom files to FC2. Armed with bowed bicycle wheels, water splashes, pipes, and vibrating motors, I never felt the need.
V1 was quite exotic, but it didn't have the LFOs/filters/effects sections or dual IRs, so there was less tweakability.

For the unacquainted, they make some otherworldly, sound-sculpting tools (Wormhole, Adaptiverb), but they also make core/essential stuff for pro productions (Intensity, Unveil). They also offer 30-day free trials.

^Is this only for Eastwoods, or any guitar brand they distribute? Kind of wild. Since I'm mostly on plugins/physical synths, I rarely check up on guitars anymore, but I'm guessing Eastwood's had this policy in place for a while. Is anyone else doing something similar?
There's some Fender stuff available from Guitar Center at 30% off if you buy more than one thing. I grabbed the Engine Room 12 power supply and a pack of strings.
This shop makes exotic & textural synths. They have their own host program, which allows you to swap out different collections in one app.

You can download the free version with a sample instrument (Rasa) to see if it's compatible with your computer & you like the workflow. Their VSTs offer a lot of haunted/darkly-cinematic sounds. Their current best deal is Pripyat for $5. You can go fairly far with just minor tweaks to the factory sounds, or you can go edit the sub-pages for adjusting the modulation and shape of each patch. They use the Pulse app for downloads, which is fairly fast. (If you've used Discord for desktop, you should already have it.)
