I checked with Sweetwater, they’re indicating they are indeed discontinued.
I’ve always wanted one, maybe now is the time….however, man that algorithm is now in several pedals as mentioned and those pedals do a ton more stuff and as well and are smaller to boot. I just always thought this one looked and sounded so cool, despite the always on conversion and all that.
What says the fellow delay geeks?

Still use my RE-20 a lot. Got it used in 2014.
Hopefully a new stand-alone iteration is in the works.

I was never interested in that particular form factor (even for Homme vibes), but I suppose the ship she hath sailed.
Should've rfurtkamp'd when I had the chance years ago! Thanks for lettin' us know.
But the Space Echo is synonymous with the Roland name, so it's only a matter of time before they release a standalone unit called a Space Echo......right?!?!?

Speaking of the FRV-1, I remember Sam Ash here had a few for 99 bucks when they were being blown out. I almost bought one as I heard they were good, but not so good with dirt and kinda bright so I passed. Ugggh. I usually don’t have flipping on the mind anyhow unless it’s just to help me be able to afford on for myself by getting two of them.
They're bright and interact with dirt like the tanks do - if you want *the* sound, it does it in spades
Everything but being able to kick it for the springs, which I would never do to a tube unit anyway!

Nice, I hope to play one some day. When I saw the price at 99 buck I didn’t know if it was a sale or being discontinued or what. I also didn’t really watch the market on this stuff as much then. I was surprised to see it jump up so fast and so steeply on those. I love Boss and to collect them, so bummed I didn’t grab one to play at least…or even the rest to sell.

Oh well.

My rep claims that when I asked.

Yeah man, I followed up in this thread about it for folks. I called sweetwater and MF and emailed Boss. They confirmed. Your initial post wasn’t very convincing due to it’s lack of detail.

I know that Thomann sells discontinued gear really cheap usually. If it gets to be a super low price I’ll get one to try one. I’ve always wanted to try it anyway, but it seems to overlap pretty much 1:1 with the el capistan
