just run a spring reverb into the front of any old amp for that vibe

Pre-64 the reverb was an outboard unit, not part of the amp itself. The 90s Custom Shop Vibro King and Dual Professional basically had the 6G15 outboard reverb built into the amp as the first part the guitar hit.

I only use a filthy coffee tin containing a small mustachioed man who listens to the notes I play and then verbalizes them in what I believe is Portuguese. What do I do?

When using mustachioed men in the signal chain no preamp is used, just a primp.
If you underfeed signal to the mustachioed, the primp turns to a scrimp.
If you overload the circuit by not using the effects loo you end up with either
a simp or a gimp.

Good luck!

If your amp doesn’t have an fx loop you don’t have to use one or not use one. Checkmate

Make your own FX loop by cutting wires and attaching them to jacks!

I find this thread silly and rather pointless.
You use the gear you need and use it how it best suits what you need, not everyone on the world is or wants to be a edgy indie guitarist trying to push the limits that were pushed over and tramped decades ago.

My amp doesn’t even HAVE an effects loop (maybe it does? Who looks at the back?) and I only play a 6 string bass so I am 6/7ths the musician Blackened Soul is.
