I'm not sure I want to even try to understand the relations between who owns whom and in which factory it is produced and who actually ordered the pcb that product X is based on.

The Hot Mushroom compressor is supposed to be very good. Keep thinking of grabbing one but they seem quite hard to get hold of in the UK (also its name is absolutely terrible...)

It's an incredible name and the only reason I bought one.

Re: Are Caline pedals legit?
Damn, I may need one for my band
The typeface / graphic design on the pedal is just so.... spectacularly bad!
Edit: I take that back, the old versions have really amusingly bad typography, the current version just looks cack. I mean it's almost like they can't afford to pay a graphic designer!

BUSTAIN
...and I see three control knob, not two

This is a Donner, appears to be a muff.
Start here, and get familar with the knob/switch layouts and functions for each pedal you're interested in...then look at the other/newer brands that have the same layout with different enclosures and knobs.

Same applies for Biyang/Caline/Donner etc

Danelectro pedals are nice now, so I'm liking this new chinese system as a replacement for the old plastic crap that used to be the $25 market. There are far better circuits being copied now too.
Horse has some nice brushed metal enclosures. Eno has a cool new aesthetic...and I am probably gonna end up with a Joyo Uzi and/or Baatsin at some point. The Uzi is a Friedman BE-OD clone, and both come with the cool r series lights for ~$50, so yeah
Hotone Djent is well on its way to becoming the Death Metal of its time. Definitely grabbing one soon.

I have been approaching it like this:goroth wrote:I'm not sure I want to even try to understand the relations between who owns whom and in which factory it is produced and who actually ordered the pcb that product X is based on.

Re: Are Caline pedals legit?
The 3 knob Shimverb sounded like poo IMO, so I doubt it’s a copy of a 5 knob 300 dollar Strymon pedal. The Repeater is a vanilla digital delay and not related to the Line 6 Echo Park. I think the Fog is a Wooly Mammoth clone but I’m not sure.
I remember when Mooer had blowout introductory prices, and I wish I would have bought a few more back then. When they’re in the $30 range they are a good value. Much less interesting when priced at $50 or more.

Yeah, was going to post the same thing re the shim and the repeater! I think the visual guide is just that, and it necessarily based on what’s inside of em.

Re: Are Caline pedals legit?
That is far from a complete Mooer rundown in that pic, it's just for quick visual reference. The Juicer isn't included in there, for example (currently oop, but not hard to find). The Joyo/Caline list isn't complete either. This one is better: http://www.thecavanproject.com/101-effect-pedal-clones/
I think the Shimverb and Repeater are scaled down "based on" designs, and not actual copies.
That Joyo High Gain can't be a strict Shredmaster with only 4 knobs either, but it does sound pretty damn good.
The Joyo Extreme/Caline Tantrum appears to be a Wampler Triple Wreck minus the switch (or more likely a metal muff). I had a Triple Wreck once, that thing was fucking awesome. Mosky has a hand wired full TW clone: https://www.amazon.com/CAMOLA-Distortio ... 211&sr=8-2

Had one too for awhile that I enjoyed. But really it always reminds me of that Longmont Potion Castle track "Nash"Warpsmasher wrote:I had a Triple Wreck once, that thing was fucking awesome.

Re: Are Caline pedals legit?
Pretty sure the Shimverb's "Shimmer" is a fifth up and not an octave, from what I remember reading online when they came out.
Good deals: Monkey Boy, julius_deane, oldangelmidnight, K2000 (x2), kbithecrowing, Casavettes, leaves turn, psychedelicrelic, nevada, alexsga, sa1126, Invisible Man, foot, solewheelin', hbombgraphics, bronzetalon, Aquietcabin1978, bass_econo, christafarai; (on TalkBass) jazzyitalian, MicG, bufert57, marineman227, karter2000; (on TGP) leray1, Electroman, bigEbeer; (on DIYstompboxes) LucifersTrip, lethargytartare; (on HC) StratsRule07, lfrz93, Firebrand, caeman, bluesthug

Re: Are Caline pedals legit?
Mosky also has handwired clones of the OCD and Wampler Pinnacle.

I am looking forward to the collective consensus that will eventually have to be reached on this stuff. The great chinese pedal printing machine has selected so many old community favorites as its chosen ones, immortalizing their circuits for all the world to enjoy affordably. At first and even second glance, it's a pretty TGP looking palette...until you stumble across the more ILF looking stuff:

...adorable, that's what I say. Takes all kinds, all styles for all players, etc.
I have no real need for this since I have a Foxx Tone Machine clone already (HBE UFO), but it's probably my favorite mini I've seen so far. Could probably be modded in a bunch of interesting ways too.

...and then, just as suddenly, as if to make up for the facepalm...

Boom, Dod 250 in the house. Mosky seems to be quite legit...
