I've not paid more than £1000 for anything, I think the most would have been £850 (two Rickenbacker 4003s and a Musicman Bongo were all around that price).

My custom McInturff was $4230 in '06. It's been in my hands on every gig except the country ones ever since and is still one of the best guitars I've ever played. After that, my McKnight acoustic was $4500 in 2010 (after a significant "performer" discount). It sounds amazing, but the builder didn't really listen to what I wanted regarding the neck shape and body size, so it doesn't get as much work as I'd hoped. It did (rather expensively) help me learn exactly what I need, how to look for it and how to be more demanding next time I'm in a solid enough financial position to have something built for me.

I usually don't sell the higher end stuff I come by, but I did let go one of my 7-string basses a few years ago for a little under $2k, I think maybe $1750 or thereabouts. Sold a limited color Stingray Classic for something similar to a collector in Germany, too.

I think I paid about £800/$1200 for my '73 OR120.

I don't think I've sold anything for a massive amount though, at least nothing's springing to mind.

Most i ever paid was about 1200€ for my aurrent amp, an Hiwatt Custom 50, and it's worth every cent, but now that shows are just rare occasions i'm starting to question if i can justify having it just laying there without being played

I'm sure the neighbors would love to hear it though!!! :!!!:
yeah that's why my main task for 2021 is building a rehearsal room, but considering that I cant turn it up over 10 o'clock without the risk of being deaf for a couple of days, maybe i should look for an alternative. We'll see.

I'm not reminding myself how much I've dumped into my modular but the Moog Matriarch is probably my priciest all in one receipt purchase. Little under $2k thanks to bonding with the Musicians Friends salesguy about how shitty their shared guitar center ordering system is. Still have it and love it when it is its time to shine.

I think the most I have sold something for is like $750? Gibson SG Classic, Fender MIJ Mustang, or my Squier vista Supersonic were in that range.

I have a hard buying rule for myself where if I feel that gambling-like rush before buying a great priced used piece of gear that I could flip... I have to stop. The universe has told me time and time again that I will never be a good flipper.

Also when posting on Reverb I always undercut the lowest priced listing by $10 with free shipping so I can sell whatever it is as fast as possible.

I'm a shit flipper too.

Both on the in and on the out I have to list the same object, a custom order Harmonic Master by New Complexity in Australia. I think I paid ~3000 EUR for it and sold it for ~1800 EUR.

The most I ever made was on a Roland Bee Baa that I bought for 150 and sold for 400. But I still miss that one so much!

It seems my upper limit is 600€ or so. Analog four, Octatrack, OP-1 and two of my guitars had that pricetag, or thereabouts. I have never flipped anything I have paid that much for.

The most expensive pedal I've bought was the hologram infinite jets, don't even remember how much it was but is was a lot. I guess about 300, which is slightly more than I paid for the Space and Pitchfactor that I paid about 250€ for. I probably would not buy such a pedal again, although there are some pedals that I would def drop some serious dough on if I had the chance

Truth. Plus getting it tech'd up and a proper three-prong plug.

Still coming out about 1k less than just buying another one though  Amp prices be dumb these days.
