When I first heard this cover I legitimately thought it was a joke. I couldn't believe they would make a cover so bad it would taint the rest of their work. But there it is. I can't listen to their normal albums without thinking of this.

The original for reference:

They tried to make it the same, but worse? What the fuck is the point of that?

I think it was for a movie... I remember it being in one.. it's just part of that nu-metal thing we all need to erase from our minds.. it's funny one of my favorite covers is of the same song as the Orkestra Obsolete sort film

Non-sequittor: I need a pop-punk cover of Michael Penn's "No Myth."

Covering classics from the 80ies was a thing for nu-metal-related bands (or, more generally, for "alternative" bands in the late 90s, early 00s - Manson, Limp Bizkit, Korn..and so on). They could have their own thread - but please don't.
Korn rendition of Word Up is another awful song, but i don't like the original too

Limp Bizkit's cover of The Who is so absolutely fundamentally atrociously godawful that I can't even. I remember being a kid when it came out, and everyone around me thought it was just soooo good; they downloaded the original on limewire by a mistake and made fun of how old, lame, and "gay" it was, compared to the amazing Limp Bizkit version. The nu metal years—what a time to be alive.

 it must have been so confusing thinking that Limp Bizkit wrote that song among the rest of their catalogue.
