What about any oscillating fuzz into a ring mod? That way you will get the oscillations, and then running that through a ring mod which might make it harmonically related, or not.

Yea, awesome idea.

Even a PLL might be fun.

I've used PLL's on no input feedback mixing before and it was a blast. And some of that psuedo-ringmod logic xor/comparator/4000series on top of that was great too.

this thread reminded me that i never did get a fuzz junkie, despite being very tempted!

If you want unpredictable, find circuits that are more than just straight up oscillating fuzz or have multiples running into each other. Consider a filter as well before or after (depending on the pedal, both may work).

The unpredictable factor (within the realm of whatever's set in the thing) is why I had an extremely hotwired Test Pattern made by an EE friend of mine that incorporated starve and a few other modifications.

I still have and love my original one (despite the maker who shall not be named), but it is a much more limited pony.

Now the two in parallel....well, that's for the right purpose insane heaven, especially when you've got the "trails" engaged on that loop on the ES-8 so it sputters in oscillating mode with no input when switched on and off with a momentary.

I'd be down for an ILF group-buy of a run of smartly built Test Pattern variants :snax: poke:

I have the schematic for anyone who wants to build one, but I'm not in the manufacturing business!

Mine was a one-off PCB.

Oooh, I think we talked about this a couple of years ago. The idea is still lit. :joy:

Yeah it was certainly discussed.

I still want to do a small ILF run of Wizard Fountains as well...Keep the price low, and donate profit to the forum  :snax:

Jero has the info and schematics, and blessing to go to Jerotown!

(If he checks his PMs!)

I should also note that I am willing to send the OG Test Pattern to decipher its mysteries - it's of the damn era of 'electrical tape wrapped PCBs" from you know who, and I haven't dared pop that seal lest the air be let out of the gophers.
