After seeing that diagram i went straight to listen.
Sound is really good and the thing that i liked the most is the amount of movement on the different layers and how they're all intelligible without mudding things up :thumb:

Cool, thanks.

There is a plugin that I started using this year called Zynaptiq Intensity that really helps give clarity to sounds and seems to help with dense mixes. I might not use it on sparse stuff or music that relishes that hazy vibe. I'm thinking of something like Elcho Stream (is this person on ILF? I think they have to be because don't know how they found me on Soundcloud otherwise). Was just listening to them this morning and was thinking about that.

I don't know what half those pedals are on #3 but they look awesome
Here's number 3, that's how I make sure that the bass isn't drowned by skinny strings or other silly stuff. ;)

Sounds can be found through the links in my sig.

This might be bass only, for example, but I'm not sure ... I post to much nonsense on bandcamp.

Same here! Is that a erica acid box and zen delay?
Yes! And the fusion box. LOVE the acid box. Not sold on the zen delay yet and the fusion box is sounding awesome on "bass".

In the spirit of some folks wanting to know how this works, here is the signal diagram (this is #4):

Image

Most of the stuff on the floor is either controlling Circular Labs Mobius on the two computers for looping or controlling effects presets through Voodoo Lab Hex's.

Output from essentially this setup: soundcloud link to playlist

I hope others do the same. As mentioned elsewhere, I would really really REALLY love to hear what comes of these boards. :snax:
Thanks for the breakdown! I just picked up a bassline and have been looking at the fusion box to pair up with it. It definitely sounds like it would be great on bass! Now I'm even more intrigued.

Btw, more Birch Bark please. Was listening to that while trying to work today and it was the perfect get-shit-done background. So from now on, 40 hours new material. Per week.

Glad you are on board, looking forward to Monday.

For the way I'm using the Fusion Box, there are probably smaller and cheaper alternatives. But I put it there and it is sounding good.

I really enjoyed listening to quite a bit of this today. You are exploring a territory that is almost certainly influenced by some stuff I listen to fairly regularly.

I do three chains for guitar too. I think of them as Riffy, Spacy, Synthy. You obviously have purpose in your three chains, what are they?

Thanks, I liked what you linked above too!

My three chains are: 1x clean/sub and 2x fuzz/noise/space.
Having 2 fuzzy chains is mostly about dirt and noise, I can stack dirt, run dirt in parallel, stack dirt in parallel, there is crazy stuff on both sides (PLL type), so I could have for example: 1x sub, 1x fuzz, 1x noise.
Running the Meatbox in parallel with 1 or 2 different fuzzes is one of my favourites.
But yeah, noise, if I turn on a few pedals, I don't even have to play anything.

Awesome, thanks for the info!

Intrigued by this sub channel. I've seen mentions of the Meatbox but have not really explored it. Going to youtube . . . .

Yeah, it is now on Reverb watchlist. From the vids I saw, it has a dirtiness that the Mantic does not have, no?

then your get-shit-done background would become my job, and then what would be my get-shit-done background to complete that job? can you provide 40h material per week for me too? should we create a temporal loop where we get-shit-done'd each other?

Exactly. I have a Meatbox and a Mantic - and prefer the MB for that reason.

Another pedal that gets you into Meatbox territory (at least on bass) is the Aguilar Octamizer.

Running the Meatbox into the Octamizer is :!!!:

Yes, I noticed upon arrival at the home office that there was no new Birch Bark playlist. Thought about tasking my gestapo but then remembered, I don't have one. Disappointment all around.

Maybe there should be an ILF radio? So much excellent music being produced out of here. I'd log in and listen, fer sure.
