Aren't the FZ2 (and therefore behringer that you already have and any other direct clones), and dwarfcraft Necromancer already superfuzzes with active EQ?

Not that I'm taking away from that rad looking pedal.

My design started from liking the FZ2 but thinking it could use some help being better in general. Changing from two fixed voices (extreme scoop or no scoop) to a variable mid control makes it easy to dial in how much scoop you want rather than choosing between mid honk and disappearing in the mix. I don't know if other folks do this in theirs but it makes a huge difference.

Definitely sounds like a better design to me. I'm 110% for more fuzz pedals with active EQs.

Like the gind of that BSRI Audio Fzz with bass and imagine it would also sound killer in the lower register of an 8-string guitar.

The Maxon Fuzz Elements Ether and Idiotbox Dungeon Master are 2 other Superfuzz clones with enhanced EQs that may be worth considering. The latter of the two incorporates a Boss HM-2 tone stack, which truly brings the buzzsaw.

yeah but only treble the necromancer does do that though you are totally right

@ck3 that Dungeon Master sounds right up my friggin’ alley and not super overpriced either! I am definitely going to look at those demos.

Definitely "over" my wanting an FZ-2 and I would take a cool clone even though I love cool Boss stuff!!

I have the dungeon master and it is a wild ride.

I had a Wattson Superfuzz and it was perfect, I had to sell it for a dental emergency and haven't gotten around to replacing it. I've got a Buzzzz and it's more versatile but it just doesn't do it for me in the same way.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I’ve got a Behringer FZ-2 somewhere and I like it but I think I prefer the FY-6 to the FY-2. I've had a look into the following recently:

Last Gasp 88

Last Gasp Octavella
Maxon Fuzz Elements Ether
SS/BS Buzzz
BSRI Audio Fzz
Fredric Super Unpleasant Companion

I think I might give the Fredric a try as I'm in the UK and it should be relatively easy to get hold of.

If you've got an expression pedal the LAL88 is a brilliant pedal.

It's still amazing if you don't have one, but if you do accept no substitutes.

Is it a super fuzz? Idk but it's fantastic whatever it is
