I appreciate the input so far, Any others that I should look into?

i Have been looking for a high headroom dirt pedal to pair with the Hiwatt amp for ages before settling with my actual setup (i hate to be THAT guy, but it's a Fulltone OCD ). All the difference is powering it at 18v instead of 9v. Totally opens everything sound-wise. There are plenty of other options anyway, at the time this was just the easiest one to find for me .

Interesting I don't have an OCD anymore I gave it away a few years ago. I never really got along with it, but I never ran it 18v. A lot of the other recommendations are a little harder to track down but I'll see if I can borrow one to give it a try.

You might consider a build of the MAE Massive Amp. Its a Micro Amp with a charge pump so you get a TON of headroom.
