Not exactly on topic, but there was the Rick Gram “Woman Tone” which had a topless lady graphic, with 2 red LEDs which were the nipples.

That's the first one I thought of too. I had to Google it and the design is even worse than I remember, somehow.

I would never buy a pedal with an "edgy" name, sexist or not. Although sexism does make it even worse. I fucking hate that macho cock rock bullshit so much.

Yikes, I had no idea of the meaning of the word “raptio”. That’s baaaaad. How long has that pedal been in production? Seems wild that we’re just now learning of the name, considering how popular that pedal is.

Swollen Pickle - I'm not sure if that name counts as a food name or a sexist name, but nothing good comes from that mental image

Hawaiian Pizza - another bad food name. also, bad food

Fender Pugilist - i shouldn't have to google your pedal name

Empress's's pedal names - they aren't "the worst" but they are the boringest

I'm having a hard time remembering any pedals that DOD named after food. Milk Box? That's not food, that's the box the Milkman puts milk in. Meatbox? That is the box the butcher puts meat in. Juice Box? That is the box that they put juice in. Are you sensing a theme here yet?

Zoia > Reverb

But yeah, for the most part, for a seemingly very creative company they have very unimaginative names.

Then why does the Milk Box have that spotted cowhide pattern? Why does the the Meatbox have a marbled beef pattern? BUSTED. Juice Box, ok I'll let you have that one.

For the record I think Danelectro's were way more illogical.

Also I have a Raptio and it doesn't bother me, it does a thing I like, even though when I looked up what it meant (or used to mean, like 1000 years ago) I was surprised. But then I remembered they're Japanese, make pedals for the noise scene and maybe don't give a flying fuck how their brand is perceived. It may be they did it as a sort of reappropriation of the word for the audio realm, although considering Japan's history.. well that's a whole political hornet's nest I probably shouldn't get into. They also have a pedal called Biloma, which is quite disgusting.

I'll play devils advocate here and say that words have more than one meaning and that choosing the worst one may not be fair. The word raptio itself, though affiliated with something pretty gross, existed before and after the practice that's been mentioned and has meant something closer to "kidnap" or "abduct", which makes a lot more sense in context of a Japanese guy or gal was googling "what is Latin for abduct".
In the context of the pedal (a freeze/stutter pedal where the signal is "abducted") that original and more traditional use makes more sense, certainly more than the practice that comes up on most cursory google search, which makes no sense within the context of the pedal. Idk it seems to me that a good analogy would be if someone called their new phaser The Swastika and people assumed it was the Nazi one even if there was nothing at all alluding to that.
